it's only that one specific store where you can do that but the return policy with other places isn't that bad either but you can't return items without the box or like dishwashers like you can with that one and also that store is in quite many places so its easy to just return stuff and it has the best return policy in our country

In Canada, prices are very accurate when adjusting for Currency with America, probably the cheapest country outside of the US. Tech stores let you return anything you'd like for full money back with any reason, like BestBuy. Small-business tech stores let you return anything for full refund if it has a problem. If you buy online, you can just return it to their stores. You can always exchange for free. These policies are usually for 14 days. Amazon is typically the best, 28 day return window with practically any reason and free shipping.

    Today i got my PG27UQ

and i have to say -

    i am impressed -
compared to my X27 it has less Backlightbleed,
therefor better FALD and less haloing,
    the more intuitive menu...

also my model already has an updated FW and no Blackcrush in 144hz...

i would definitely keep this one -
    but unfortunatley...
it has many many dead pixels...

    i counted 18 (!!!) so far...

some of them are dead black dots, some of them seem to be ON all time and some have subpixel issues...

so i have to return it again -
but from what i now saw: i gotta stick with PG27UQ and hopefully my next panel won't have defect pixels and maybe even less BLB than this one i got!

    Again:
it could very well be - that my ACER X27 was a very bad model -
but now that i had the chance to inspect both models - i go with Asus...

    sooo...

    once more - return, exchange...
    3rd GSync HDR monitor then - 2nd PG27UQ - wish me luck!

I dont quite understand why they dont screen every monitor prior to boxing, cause im sure they look at every screen during the calibration phase of their manufacturing. There is no way it is cheaper to have so many monitors with dead pixels. Almost every other person who posts online half dead pixels, and these are all people who are active posters, not one time people who just want to complain.

it is cheap due to the fact, that some people really don't care about one or two dead pixels in the peripheral -

and based on Asus warranty - up to 8 dead pixels per 1 million pixels - is not a defect... (based on that you could have up to 64 dead pixels!)

it also depends on how clustered the dead pixels are and if they are all dead or just subpixel-issues...

the service man at the shop-hotline told me i should recall it - because out of his experience asus is very tolerant -
but to be absolutely safe: i should opt for not sending it in, but totally get my money back and just try my luck again with an unopen box!

so i recall this one, get my money back and order it again in the hopes to get a better panel -

unfortunately: sending it back needs time, process the recall needs time and then getting a new unit needs time too...
    if sending abck tomorrow,
i will have a new unit in maybe two weeks -
IF: they have them in stock!

    Also -
i was informed earlier, that all new units have new firmware -
but as the serviceman today told me -
they just decided to sell the units they had in stock - because Asus announced, that new FWs will be available for endusers later this year...
AAAND: Asus is STILL working on this updated FW, which - to his info - means: it's not done yet!

People say FALD TVs like Z9D and X93E have less blooming because they are VA panel compared to IPS panel of this monitor and probably Sony's FALD processing is better but honestly it looks pretty bad in this Z9D pic below

I wouldn't trust photos for analysis of blooming. They tend to be overexposed. Even if one has less blooming than the other, I doubt it would be a noticeable difference in normal usage. People overreact too much towards blooming. In the end, FALD is better than every technology that isn't OLED. More zones are better. End of story.

Yet Lim's Cave review says the edge lit Sony XE93 gives less blooming than these monitors. I refuse to believe that really. I watch the zone count video of the XE93 and the blooming is way worse than Acer X27 or PG27UQ
