Haha so true. I've been so used to it. I managed to fiddle with the color settings and they both look a lot better, a lot closer to one another. In overall, this monitor is hell of a jump man. Freaken 4k HDR is beautiful, regardless of the FPS. Though the one thing I'm not sure about is do I have to leave HDR on all the time? Cause netflix and youtube have HDR, and having to manually turn on HDR everytime I want to watch something sounds annoying.

Edit: The fan got really loud after extended usage, pretty annoying.

I dont see blooming unless I look at the monitor on an angle. Kind of weird that it works like that, but it is what it is. I see some light blooming if I game in a dark room, but I dont do that, so it's not a problem for me.

Yeah I don't game in dark room either. Hopefully it's not a problem when I get my hands on it.

You have any OLED or FALD TVs? How does the monitor compare to those TVs in term of contrast/colors?

Do you guys switch through modes? If not, what mode would you recommend for permanant usage. There's no standard mode.
I use Racing mode to play CSGO just because it's been calibrated with that mode. Mine's been calibrated using the Spyder 5 ELITE while it was set to Racing mode. Most games run in HDR anyway so those modes are irrelevant.

I would have to unplug power to monitor and then plug back in and set up surround all over again
Strange you mentioned that because I used to have that problem with my previous BenQ monitor on the DisplayPort connection, i.e. it wouldn't wake up out of sleep and keeps saying there's no signal. I had to power it off and disconnect the DP cable, reconnect and power on to rectify it. Hmm. I never had this problem with the PG27UQ. Fans don't run after shut down. I can't remember whether I have DP deep sleep turned on. Will check tonight.

btw I am seeing banding in colour gradient tests, is this expected? I also see banding in the blue skies while playing Assassin's Creed Origins in HDR mode.

    Thanks.

Yes when the app, in this case PowerDVD switches the display to HDR mode, this happens.
