Update it appears the 32' 4k 144hz monitors are on hold for now but there are plans for a 43 inch BFGD and a 65 inch that are in development so we should see those in Q1 2019.

There are also plans for AUO to develop 240hz 1440p TN based panels this info is directly from TFT central

Ultrawide monitors PG35VQ , Acer Predator X35 these monitors are currently in mass production as of Q3 2018 so we should see these in Q1 2019 so hold on to that Christmas money.
Maybe you misunderstood, we waiting for the firmware update to fix the 144Hz blackrush problem. Also i think the always on fan problem is on a firmware level.

Oh I see yeah I understand I know how the colors get crush anytime you set the overclock refresh rate on @ 144hz even at 144hz 1080p and 1440p according to asus they posted it will be released this year so lets hope it won't be delayed and actually does come out this year would be a nice christmas gift

Source optional firmware coming this year from Asus

Just talked to an asus rep in chat there will be a tool coming and if your model has a second digit with a 6 in it you can get a refreshed firmware so if you want to have the firmware update done now send in your panel to Asus or wait for the download to become active. He just leaves chat without even saying goodbye lol

I wouldnt care about it that much to send it back... shipping risk, waiting, maybe cost, etc.. its just not that big of a deal...120Hz vs 144Hz... ehhh.... not worth the mentioned risks for me much better to just wait especially since they have to release it. They dont have much of a choice, a mass recall because misrepresentation of a product would hurt them really much.

Yeah that is the one thing I hate about it I wish they had on site upgrade like with LG my oled had to be repaired they came to my house and installed the new panel right in front of me.

The fan turns off with like 2 hours delay after i press the power button. Kinda weird.
(It will be always on when you use the monitor to actively cool it)

    yes I have a 2080ti 2x

    I use displayport

the Manufacturer date on my display is June I only hear the fan when I turn my pc off and the fan I never hear it during gaming sessions only after I turn off my pc and the fan shuts off about 5 minutes after that I am gonna be connecting my display to a battery backup soon.

I have not tried the usb ports yet. You can send in your display to asus for the firmware update I am patient enough to where I can wait for the download tool.
