Rampage V Extreme (non Edition 10) Meltdown/Spectre Bios update

As per the title, I see from here https://www.asus.com/News/V5urzYAT6myCC1o2 Asus has provided only X99 bios (microcode) updates for the Strix and the Extreme V Edition 10. I do not fancy rebuilding my entire system around an Edition 10 purely to somewhat mitigate Meltdown/Spectre as my X99 system has been running happily overclocked and stable for years.

Can I use the Edition 10 bios on my 1st gen Rampage V Extreme mobo? I am completely out of the loop on systems/motherboards these days, and only look into hardware when I do a new build.

Thanks.

Ya know,
I have the same board. Original Rampage V Extreme.
Also runs great .

So, I think I would like to ask this question also.

Same problem with Rampage V Extreme Edition 10 ... no update and asus support know only about old bios ...

"We recommend customers update their systems by downloading and applying the latest BIOS, as soon as the relevant revision becomes available."
I have the R5E10 - bios 1901 is not yet available on the support site I link to.

Ye your not one a ASUS Rampage V Extreme x99 Motherboard I am hoping Asus add support to the New Microcode Bios Update Soon.

I am really worried they will just ignore their older X99 boards completely.

do i have to apply this microcode for my asus rampage v extreme, will it help in sorting out RAM issues as i have posted in the following thread

thanks

that wont help with your ram issue you just have to set the ram up the microcode is due to the latest spectre / meltdown problems
