Quoting this link I posted above:
    https://newsroom.intel.com/wp-conten...e-guidance.pdf

    "Skylake H/S - microcode 0xC2***"

"Lines with“***”were previously recommended to discontinue use. Subsequent testing by Intel has determined that these were unaffected by the stability issues and have been re-released without modification."

For Skylake H/S, etc, intel says microcode C2 in this BIOS 3703 is OK.

So we're all stupid us or the disaster did it Asus in compiling the BIOS or BIOS update method, do we have to wait for other BIOS releases in the future?

Sorry, I don't understand your question.

Intel now says the _skylake_ microcode released in this bios 3703 is stable and ok to use.

I notice stuttering in games after this bios update + windows update, I can see some games consume more CPU now.
I'm going to wait some weeks to see if Asus releases another bios.
After that I'll upgrade to this 3703 or to the last bios available to mitigate these exploits.

Hello, in the past I had the problem when I went from 2202 to the 3xxx version of the bios. I solved by reprogramming the bios chip with a programmer hw, maybe we are in the same situation and I have a reason to forcearea change hw thing that I suspect, in this case I will do it but with AMD when it will now

I applied the 3703 BIOS patch to my Maximus VIII Extreme motherboard (which included the Intel ME code update as well). And, I have a problem - my U.2 Intel 750 2.5-inch SSD is unrecognized. I worked with ASUS support, and after booting from BIOS2 (which contained the original BIOS release code), the U.2 750 SSD booted right up as it was recognized.

So, some where along the way with 3703, it has disabled the U.2 port. It acts like I have an M.2 SSD drive installed, which by design disables the U.2 port - except I have no M.2 SSD drive installed.

Unfortunately, my Windows OS (10 Pro 64-bit) and MS Office 2016 believe they are unlicensed while I await ASUS to troubleshoot my problem. It would appear ASUS fixed some sort of issue with a Samsung M.2 SSD, but 3703 disables a U.2 attached Intel SSD. So far no response from ASUS on my Case ID.

Anyone else have a U.2 Intel 750 SSD and experience this same problem.

Which probably explains why I haven't had any problems at all with this release. No stuttering in games, no tangible loss of storage performance, no bsod, nothing. Just totally stable with my ole 6700k.

I'm also on 6700k CPU and not sure if I should upgrade to BIOS 3703 or not. Could anyone else with Skylake processor and BIOS 3703 care to comment?
