It's not worth the trouble especially for 730eur!
Enormous issues? I think that's somewhat of an exaggeration.

What is your basis for stating that the first PCIE Slot is unusable? I had 2 air cooled GTX 1080's installed with no issues while I was testing the board prior to case installation. If your card does not fit the first slot I'd seriously consider looking at getting a different card.

    or a different Case.

Best ROG Board I ever owned. If you have use of all it features your good. Should think along those lines. There is a $2 20 pin X 9 pin 3.0 to USB 2.0 adapter you can get for that USB 2.0 issue. https://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-3-0-20-...53.m2749.l2649

I agree . "Enormous issues" is not synonymous with this motherboard.

I have had every Rampage X Extreme board Asus has made. They are not perfect, but overall they are the BEST motherboards you can buy. Period. They offer the best build quality, parts, design, and feature set of any board on the market. They are always the absolute leader in their category. I just got a Rampage VI Extreme built and setup in my rig, it has been flawless. I was astonished the first time I powered my system on. This board is simply beautiful. Everything I plug in works just fine, overclocking was as simple as a quit boot into the BIOS. There are no known "enormous" issues that the other poster mentioned....

If there is a"weak" link I would say it's the software side. but most times it just conflicting with something else that's doing the same job. you have to choose one or the other.

Just want to add that I've had almost no issues with Asus software. People keep saying that Aura, AI Suite and Livedash are broken, but I really think that they're simply doing it wrong, or there's something wrong with their systems, because everything works fine for me. Aura did hang on me once or twice when I've been fooling around with it, but normally it does what it should with no problems. Livedash worked for me from the start, AI Suite as well.

I specifically said CUSTOM WATERCOOLED GPUs,not AIRCOOLED.When I said CUSTOM,I mean non reference PCB GPUs.Tested with Aorus and Strix 1080ti with heatsink it fits, with waterblock doesn't fit.(all the blocks are released way way before this mobo hit the market). For 730euro mobo ,this should not be even an issue.Hence,in my opinion that's poor design choice from Asus team. You're very limited to reference 1080ti and xp ...That's not acceptable.at least not for 730euro.
When I buy something that's marketed as high end, versatile ,ultimate motherboard than expect from me a in depth analysis beside just benchmarks scores. If this was an issue on TUF1 or any other cheaper mobo than ok,it's a flaw, but for that price range, that's expected .But,for something that's trying to be sold as ultimate for ultimate price than Houston we have a problem. One would expected that you can fit high end watercooled GPU in first x16 PCIe slot, not to mention God forbids two of them.

Hey,you do realize you just said buy USB adapter for this motherboard? For this ultimate board? Yes I bought two of them....One for internal 3.0 to internal 2.0 and one external 2.0 to internal 2.0.But this shouldn't even be an issue for this mobo.I will post images of my system, with problems I have written about.(give me some time, will be posting pictures with all the things I have spoken about and how to fix them if possible),and GPU problem in PICs will come later ,because I don't have strength nor time to pull my custom loop right now again.

If the waterblock does not fit I don't really see how that would be Asus' fault. They have no control over what third party vendors design. If it was one of their blocks then yes, that would be an issue. But if someone else decides to design a block that does not end up being compatible with the space available on the board I don't see how it's their fault; especially when the block is designed before the physical board is actually in hand.

If you hate the board that much just take your own advice and get an Apex or a Gigabyte or whatever works.

I'm in agreement here. The only type of GPU that is considered "standard" would be the founders edition. Every other GPU out there will have different fans, different boards and yes, different waterblocks. Considering there are over a dozen companies that make waterblocks, I can't fault Asus for not taking all of them into consideration, especially on a motherboard that ASUS wants to be custom looking and unique. If a manufacturer like EK make a specific waterblock for the R6E, EK and others could make special GPU block for 3rd party GPUs that would fit in that first slot.

Of course you could do what many modders did which was dremmel the armour slight to make it fit or take it back and get the APEX or another Motherboard.

As for the rest of your issues, I have had no qualms with most of them except the software. One USB port, easily fixed with a NZXT USB hub, which I would have had to get anyway even if the motherboard had only 2 usb hubs. AISuite isn't an issue, nor is LIveDash, but Aura, yeah that is an issue to a point, but then I don't have 6 different Aura sync devices. Aura has always been an issue, going back to when the Claymore was introduced with tones of issues.
