Exactly. And when the fast tier runs out of space it will move the least used files back to the slow tier to make room. Plus there is a small advantage vs my manual method which is if a particular game file isn't used it will stay on rust rather than taking up fast tier space. It doesn't need to move the whole game. Tiered storage only moves the hottest files.

Also note that 256GB fast tier is a licensing limitation, not a physical one. If you want to use a 1TB NVMe you can pay $40. For me I don't think that is necessary because I don't play more than 256GB of games in any particular period of time.

Next time Microsoft installs an "update" that corrupts my OS entirely I might try setting this up...I will have to look closer at it...I manage everything manually at the moment and don't do much gaming etc. so only have a couple of things installed at a time...have to see if it's worth it for my use case...but it sounds cool enough!

    RAM Tweaking...timings vs frequency

OK, so I decided to tighten 3200 with top voltage 1.5 VDIMM 1.13125 SOC

I can get 3200 Cas 12 up and running but for the voltage, the gains vs 3200 Cas 14 with tight secondaries/tertiaries puts it beyond the pale.

I use it to boost my data drive since my OS is already on SSD. The good news is that adding a tier is non-destructive so I added the SSD tier to a HDD with data already on it.

Only thing I forgot to mention is that you are combining two drives so you are also combining the failure rates. If one drive dies you lose the volume. So backup anything important.

Hey everyone, I'm sorry if I'm hijacking the thread or anything. But which mode your using mostly for your daily use? NUMA (Local) but with LCM (Legacy Compatibility Mode) disabled. I'm just curious, since I already got my Baby here, since yestrday and just awaiting confirmation from the retailer to stock in the 1920X.

But yeah I just entered the platform, but like to prep myself when I get this baby built up :3

    Hi Izzyreb02

I set "channel" in BIOS which is "Local" for the memory...especially for benchmarks

You can also do this via the Ryzen Master Application...

OK...so I decided to let curiosity get the better of me and fired up the latest BIOS 1601 a couple of days ago.

So far so good for 24/7 use.

RAM even a tad better performing at my everyday settings...which is nice...

I was angry on Intel when they excluded me from i7-8086K Giveaway because living in region who didn't participate, as many others.
But I forgive them because their processors serve me good and I used on them.
Only stay bad feeling that they done such things.
Maybe is even better to get someone who would use him, I would kept him as exhibit, showpiece.

Someone still keep him hard with X58/X79/X99/X299 platforms.
I'm aware of all advantages of AMD, but again I know Intel model who could satisfy multi threaded performance, nice single threaded because higher clock and enough cores to beat all Ryzen processors even 10 cores when show up.
i9-9820X... I have good feeling about him same as about i7-5820K.
He will not dissapoint, but price...

From other side people have big reasons why they switch to AMD and Intel still didn't recognize their real new position.
Memory results with Threadripper are great as well.
