Open Powershell as admin and type the following commands in this order. Apply "Y" where applicable.

    Install-Module SpeculationControl
    $SaveExecutionPolicy = Get-ExecutionPolicy
    Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned -Scope Currentuser
    Import-Module SpeculationControl
    Get-SpeculationControlSettings

This is telling you that you do not have the correct microcode, and that the patch is also not installed or dormant.

Like others seeing a fairly significant hit to 4k numbers with new bios. Top 2 are new bios and bottom two are bios 0802. Chip @ 4.5 for all tests. Somewhat less in AS SSD but still there for sure. Drive is the Intel 900P

Any reason you guys not using the Steve Gibson exe to test vulnerability. Seems easier and better.

You need some registry edits to fully enable the mitigation

    reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contr ol\Session Manager\Memory Management" /v FeatureSettingsOverride /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

    reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contr ol\Session Manager\Memory Management" /v FeatureSettingsOverrideMask /t REG_DWORD /d 3 /f

Run those commands in CMD and reboot, and you'll be good.

Yeah I think I'll pass on 1102 for now. These vulnerabilities don't really concern me in the slightest given what I use my machine for. Oh no, someone stole a stream of data from my CPU - enjoy that Witcher 3 achievement data!

A malicious entity successfully executing these newly discovered vulnerabilities is even more difficult in reality - it's not even remotely in the script kiddie realm. To date I don't believe it's even been exploited.

Not that I won't stay on top of it all and wait for (possibly) a less impactful firmware, it's just that right now I'm not in the mood to take a 27 percent 4K storage performance hit.

1004 has been a stellar and rock solid UEFI so far.
