I hope someone else can get this working cause I reflashed everything. My MEI is version 11.7.0.1057 I installed, it shows that in my Device Manager, but on this screen it shows 11.10.0.1287. At this point I'm so confused (probably cause I got the flu) and nothing is making sense. All I know is I've updated my machine to the latest BIOS, updated my MEI as far as I can go, my machine is slower and still vulnerable. Thanks Asus for the wonderful instructions!

Well then I may go back to 1004 because honestly the performance hit is simply not worth it until everything is all fixed and even then... bleah.

Yes, I'm on the latest preview build. That fixed the issue for me. Wouldn't currently recommend it , though. Build is very new.

it is the firmware 11.11.50.1436 that must be installed 'firmware), not the drivers for the vulnerability
I still don't understand all this, either way what I am understanding is the BIOS apparently puts in the microcode for the BIOS but we need another BIOS update to fix the MEI vulnerability so this is only 1/2 fix and there is nothing further _I_ can do to fix it, I'm waiting on Asus.

In the meanwhile the latest BIOS update hits performance noticeably.

Either way thanks for the help. I do with that Asus was more up front to the steps needed to fix all this. I thought THIS BIOS update would fix everything, it obviously doesn't.

and with the Intel detection tool is it good with the APEX ?
Bizarre Asus corrects with APEX but not with EXTREME

In fact, there is the driver (11.7.0.1057) on one side, and on the other side the firmware (11.11.50.1436, the latest) and it is the firmware that needs to be updated to correct the vulnerability

To understand better, the drivers are for the "software", the firmware is for the "hardware"
    Sorry for my english

I get that there are drivers (software) and firmware (hardware). The BIOS addresses the firmware (hardware). Someone said here that there is needed another BIOS update to address the driver MEI issue. That is the part that is confusing me. You just said the APEX is working fine with the BIOS 1102 update, but the Extreme is not. So I'm confused as to why another BIOS update is needed to address the Software side of things.

BTW 1102 is again available on the win 10 version on the website.

Well I FINALLY figured it out. Holy hell. Turns out I'm clicking what I think is an executable file that pops up a Dos Screen and disappears so quickly that I can't even see that there was an error. Ended up having to go into an administrative DOS prompt and run the executable program with following tag "-f <binfilename>" . Then it updated the firmware and the Intel tool recognizes the correct version.

Seriously tho this is NOT something that a normal end user would EVER understand how or what to do. I have no idea how Asus or Intel expects anyone that isn't a computer technician to know how to install this all correctly. I'm guessing or at least HOPING that I'm just an idiot and missed something and it was something as simple as clicking a file and it would all be good but when I went to download ME 11.11.50.1436, it game me three files. Two of them were executable files, one for x86 and the other for x64 machines and then the actual .bin file. The only way I could figure out what to do was to bring up a DOS window and through trial and error, find the command to execute the .bin file correctly. Am I alone on this to think that normal users would not be able to do this on their own and Asus or Intel needs to come up with a better/easier way?

Seriously did I miss something? Shouldn't the BIOS update have done all this for me? There is no way that I should have had to do this manual update through a DOS prompt.

Very pissed off and frustrated now. :/
