Step 6) says to copy the microcode patch ( e.g. 06-3C-03 ) to the UBU folder, then step 7) is about making the UBU folder the Current Directory in a powershell. I'm not sure how anyone could construe something like CD C:\06-3C-03\UBU from those two steps.

Confirmed working with Z87 Hero. Successfully patched the microcode last night.

I tried this procedure for my RVE with a 6950x CPU. As far as the OP's instructions go, great work. Very easy to understand and follow I found. However, when it comes to my CPU (06-4f-01 in the microcode download), the latest microcode is from March 1 2017. The intel document regarding which chips have spectre microcode updates says there is a firmware released (production), however with a date this old no way it could be protected from the vulnerability.
Here's an updated document from Intel showing which chips have new firmware available.

Yes, equally for the Sabertooth Z97 Mark 1, what good news, but it will be waiting for the final version because it gives me a little mistrust this BETA. :confuso:

I just updated the RVE BIOS 3902 with the latest mCode dated July 4 2018. The instructions on the first page worked flawlessly. Just building up the gumption to install it. Not sure if I feel like re-doing all my BIOS settings again, may wait a while before installing or do it next weekend.

Edit: Cannot seem to install the update. The BIOS and USB flashback methods don't work. Invalid BIOS file :-(
It's the exact same size as the original so not sure what is going wrong for me.
