Intel suggesting users NOT update their BIOS with new microcode
While most of the reported problems have been happening on Haswell and Broadwell CPUs, Intel is suggesting that users Roll Back their BIOS to the non-microcode version due to potential reboot, startup and slowness issues. Acer, Dell and HP have already rolled out BIOS updates to roll back the code.

sounds like this is for the haswell and broadwell CPU, I haven't experience any rebooting issues at all . But I'm also on the latest and greatest Windows 10 insider builds too with Microsoft's fixes in it. I'll do some test.

I'm sticking with the older microcode simply because the new one negatively affects Turbo boost, but for the short time I ran the Spectre fix microcode, I didnt have any stability issues.
In the light of all these bug issues, I'm feeling a little better about my decision lol.

Question is WHICH microcode version is affected? The most up to date is the 3C for Skylake-X. ASUS has 3A in the X299 BIOSses....

Hillarious! And you are using PCgamer as a reliable source? As long as Intel is recommending update the microcode, it doesn't matter what PC gamer says. Everyone wants to be "the smoking gun" here, but no one are having ANY issues with the BIOS update......well maybe PC gamer has, but who cares wht they think. Next time you want to be in the spotlight, try to read some comic books
Here is a guidance directly from Intel:
