Horible blooming/halo in PG27UQ/PG35VQ/PG65

Guys I held off my new computer purchase and waited 2 years for PG27UQ mainly because of HDR but some recent CES2018 video on Youtube have made me incredibly worried (time mark included when the person starts talking about HDR performance):

https://youtu.be/xk_TNiSJ1X0?t=2m49s
https://youtu.be/19MuphJzuSc?t=1m49s

Also some articles:

https://www.pcgamesn.com/nvidia-bfgd-performance-review
https://www.gizmodo.com.au/2018/01/this-huge-screen-looks-like-a-tv-but-its-actually-a-specialised-g...

All point out very bad HDR performance with excessive blooming aka "the dramatic halo effect that becomes apparent as soon as you display any bright detail on a contrasting dark background". This is incredibly disappointing given how long it takes for these HDR monitors to come out and what we finally get may be not even as good as last year HDR TVs.

I would say you won't see that during actual play and use. I've seen some of the best Direct Array available (which is far worse than FALD when it comes to haloing) and they halo like no tomorrow under a dark background with a bright white or off axis shot. However, under normal circumstances it's basically not visible at all. Sort of like IPS glow that everyone claims is so bad. My monitor top IPS under a IPS glow stress test vs bottom which is calibrated vs calibrated QLED VA which does not have bleed. Can you see the difference under normal circumstances?
Examples of IPS glow under extreme circumstances . Which cannot be noticed as well viewing with the naked eye. I did not notice this except in the picture itself.

I actually don't mind IPS glow at all. The black on my IPS screen under bright light condition looks very black to me so I am not bothered. However, if you watch the two videos linked in my original post, the halo is super obvious it's freaking crazy (e.g. when the mouse pointer is hovered over dark background it's like there is a flashlight underneath luminating an area around it) and I'm pretty sure I will notice during actual use. I refuse to believe top of the line FALD TVs like Sony Z9D have this kind of problem, so this may be due to poor backlight control driver. Hope Asus can fix it before releasing the monitors to consumers.

If they don't fix it why spend so much money on a monitor with such an horrible effect?
All in all the monitor presented at ces was affected by halo, I really doubt that they will be able to fix it in few months.
The tech is that, they need other techs to fix it.

This HALO defect is really really annoying to the point of not even considering these anymore unless this is fixed for the final release. I really hope somebody at ASUS is reading this thread... If the HALO is present on the final product, these will not sell at all !

So this is IPS, HDR, 4k, 1ms, G-Sync and 144hz? If so this monitor is the pinnacle of everything anyone could want in a monitor. It's just a shame I will have to downgrade in size to get this. Why 27 inches and not 30 I will never understand (minimum it should have been 28). The small size alone may cause me to pass on this.

Anyone know what they plan to charge come release? And does anyone know the actual date?

PG35 is also due later with similar specs. You've got to use what panels are available. It's not that every size is available for every spec; for example that's why there's so many 15.6 laptops with 4K displays but much less 17.3s, which you'd think would be better given the extra space for more GPU power, but the 4K displays just aren't as common.
