Just for fun... Show me your desktop RoG'ers!

Hey Guys, good to be back on the forum, been a mad few weeks since was last one beginning of Jan. So what have I been up to since I did my Clean Install... Well, not much mainly been modding my Windows Desktop and reliving the retro days with ChopLifter HD on Steam as well as APB Reloaded and War Inc 🙂 So it being a quite night at work, I thought it would be nice to share my current desktop with my fellow ROG'ers. So why not point your browser here and check out the 75% finished version (still think it's missing something).

Right where to start. Well I'm using the RainMeter Desktop Customization Tool found here http://rainmeter.net/cms/ with Kaelri's Enigma Suite 3.1 http://rainmeter.net/cms/SuitesEnigma Next up on the Right-hand side is RocketDock http://rocketdock.com/ which I use for my Gaming Stuff (3D Vision Photo Viewer, CPU-Z ROG Edition, GPU Tweak by ASUS, OnLive and Steam). The bottom dock is StarDock's ObjectDock http://www.stardock.com/products/objectdock/ which I use for all other frequently used programs (BBC iPlayer Desktop, Power4Gear Hybrid, PowerDVD 11 Ultra, Kaspersky PURE, uTorrent and VLC) and by using it's built in Hide Taskbar option, it makes for a cleaner look. The Left-hand side is using the Enigma Suite's RSS feeds, being ASUS ROG, BBC News and CNET. The top is Enigma's notepad feature, couple quotes nothing special. Might add a gallery panel and maybe a video panel, if one exists, you never know.

Hopefully you all enjoy, I know the stock G74Sx isn't anything special, but can't find any decent wallpapers that I think will match the theme, downloaded a few from the forum, so we'll see, might have to make one myself 🙂 I also use the ROG Cursor Pack found here http://lilmegz97.deviantart.com/art/ASUS-ROG-Cursor-Set-196759707 as well as W7SBC http://www.thewindowsclub.com/windows-7-start-button-changer-released Enjoy and why not post your own on here too and if anybody wants it or would like try it, just drop me line and I'll send you the theme file 😄

I welcome advice and opinions.

I gotta admit - it looks really cool! But I'd recommend some benchmarking just to make sure you're not paying a price in terms of system stability or performance.

Yeah I know, thats going to be next on list any good benchmarking programs you would recommend or should I stick with 3DMark & PCMark as used these before.

I'd think they'd be fine. You could also do some real world tests to see if the FPS and temps remain constant, with no Lockups, GSOD's, or TDR's in the games you like to play as you switch desktops.

@ dstrakele Good Idea, FRAPS might come in handy for that, switching between the default desktop and RainMeter in order see how much each one effects my FPS, do tend to run my games on HIGH or ULTRA settings, so using either desktop will certainly give me a good idea of how much the FPS difference is. Thanks chap.
