BIOS version 0607 is now out for Z370-E and most likely Z370-F and similar boards.

Date:
2018/02/02

Notes:
Improve system stability. (not really helpful but ok)

Please leave your feedback about this bios version here.
So far it runs just as well as the 0606 for me, same overclock at same voltage.
This BIOS version still don't change that I can't get my 3600 MHz 32GB memory kit to run stable above 3000MHz on this board - it's the F4-3600C16Q-32GTZR kit at https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f4-3600c16q-32gtzr

Hopefully this version includes improvements to the Spectre/Meltdown fix so the weird behavior from this is gone, some confirmation would be nice ASUS.

So does this version still have the "faulty" micro code update which locks up gaming experience?

If you talk about the Spectre/Meltdown system freezes that appeared in 0606 then yes, it's still there for me.

Thanks for confirming, so have you rolled back to 0605 or stayed with 0607?

I am currently seeing if Microsofts out of band update that should disable the buggy part of the Spectre microcode update is working. You can read about it here if you like:

Have tested it like half a day and so far no issues. What a world we have come to when we have to fix an Asus implementation of an Intel microcode by installing Microsoft Windows updates.

Following this thread

Is there a detailed report or patch notes aside from "Improves system stability"?
I have been reading few issues with the recent updates since the microcode update.

I'll hold off updating as of now just to see.

0606 cpuopt 300t m2fan 500t chassfan 1 500t chassfan 2 500t. 0607 cpuopt 300t m2fan 500t chassfan1 500t chassfan2 800t. to mutch fan noise go back to 0606. back to 0606 , chassfan2 still on 800t, it is an dcfan, i switched to pwm and click automatic fine tune, than i put it back on dc and now i can lower it to 500t, maby this works also with 0607 but it is fine for me, i had no issues with 0606, i am not an overclocker and have ddr4 2400.

Interested in this thread, I'm back on 0605 and the system had random freezes on 0606 while gaming.

Watching this thread also.

I never really had an issue with 0606, the only thing that went wrong was my once stable OC of 4.8 (8700K) became unsteady straight away, now at 4.7 and fine.

Will watch for feedback from you all about 0607.

The freezes and blue screens introduced in 0606 was also there for me in 0607. However, since I installed the Windows update I mentioned above I have had zero issues.
All the update does is change a registry setting and that disables mitigation against Spectre, Variant 2 which was added to the microcode in 0606.
