2nd Ryzen 7 1700X killed by my Crosshair VI Hero - Unfounded

Hi All!

I'm here to inform you that my Asus Crosshair VI Hero has killed the 2nd 1700X in 3 months (The CPUs were @ default).

First time, 3 months ago (After 3 months of service).
My rig was:
Ryzen 7 1700X
BIOS 1701
2x4GB Patriot Viper 4 3000 MHz
SSD OCZ Trion 100
Chieftec ECO 600 Watt
Powercolor RedDevil RX480

Second time, one week ago.
My rig is:
Ryzen 7 1700X
BIOS 3008
2x8GB Patriot 4 3400 MHz
SSD M.2 Intel 600P
CoolerMaster V650 650W
XFX Fury X

First time, error 08. Second time, error 02. I have a Ryzen 1500X as backup, and it works (Also, I have 2 other Ryzen on Gigabyte boards and these CPUs work perfectly 24/7)
After first 1700X dead, I noticed it to AMD Italia, and they replaced my CPU with a new one. I thought was a defective sample. But even the new one died after 3 months of service. So, the problem is 99.9% the mainboard: there are huge vCore peaks, even in idling. 😕

I think I'll sold my CH6H. I can't change the CPU every 3 months.

You are making statements with nothing to substantiate what has happened. Just saying the board killed my CPU doesn't really help anyone.

Which bios revision were you running?

Who set up the board?
If you made changes to the bios, then the only person responsible is the one who made the changes.

Which voltages were changed?
You can set the voltages up so they will fry your CPU. You should read up before applying any changes.

Was there any OCs applied?
Applying OCs without setting voltages properly will burn out your CPU.

Coolers:
1st: Thermaltake Water 3.0 Riing 140 in a Chieftec GP-01B-OP
2nd: OCZ Vendetta 2 on a CoolerMaster Lab

I never overclocked my CPUs: always default settings.
In 23 years, these are my first dead CPUs (I have used over 80 CPUs, since Socket 3).

RMA the motherboard with details of the voltage spikes...

Selling it on seems mean spirited to put it politely

If you sold it to me
71260

Ahahah, great quote!

I'll RMA to Asus ... even because it was an AMD gift for my review rig. 😛

Hmmm...well, I'd have thought they would be the first to want to sort it out...?

I'll contact Asus Italia. 😉

If this is a review board/pc - reach out to your pr contact. Is this a joke?

I don't write here because I want a new board, but just to inform you that the C6H is bugged as hell: several fake boot everyday (@ default), dead CPUs, etc. I had just one board worse than this C6H: the Asus Striker Extreme.
