Can't get front audio ports to work

I've got an Asus Crosshair VI Extreme motherboard. I can't get the front audio ports to work on my Corsair Air 540 case. The wire is plugged into the bottom of the motherboard. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. The back panel ports work fine. I've got the latest drivers and software installed from the motherboard support page.

what panel header cable are you using/does you're case have ?
You need a Intel header if i'm not mistake so if the cable/header is ac97 it won't work.
