    Bykski A-Ryzen-Th-X / Bykski A-Ryzen-ThV2-X

Purchased from Aliexpress, on visual inspection seems like was worth the wait coming from far east . This should be an improvement over the EK-Supremacy EVO Threadripper Edition.

RGB is not my cup of time but the store that had the best price sold the product with Bykski RGB/AURA . So loose in parcel was Bykski RGB unit, it has 6 connectors, 3 per long side of unit, each with 6 pins, labelled as fan 1 to 6. One short side has 2 connectors with 4 pins labelled as RGB. Other short side has DC 12V 2 pin to molex with pass through, 5 pin labelled as IBM, which has 3 wires to a LED in metal casing . No manual in box and no idea on usage, nor was there a plan to use it TBH .

Bykski A-Ryzen-ThV2-X has a nice weight and good finish IMO . This V2 edition also supports AM3/AM4 as well as Threadripper, read and weep EK . 3 sides are clear and one long length has an integrated LED unit, this has 4 pin connector and 50cm of cable. There seems to be an 4 pin extension cable included or maybe part of Bykski RGB unit . Cold plate has a fine machined finish, I may lap it at some point, doesn't seem too shabby at all. Looking forward to plumbing this in and comparing to EK .

    I like it!

I'm like you and not into the whole disco PC thing, so most of the cables would be off to recycling...but the block itself looks sweet.

Interested to see results when you get it in the loop...but looks like it will do the job...nice design

    Cheers .

The photos do not do it justice, it really looks way better product than the EK standard TR block IMO. It has more of a WOW factor and I swear it feels heavier, but it has been 4-5mths since I held the EK block. I will do a weigh in prior to the bout between them! .

Weigh in I forgot . Gonna weigh EK block now as it's off and weigh Bykski on next removal.

When I fitted EK block I spread TIM on IHS using plastic card (like I've always done on other CPUs) and filled the screws on block with TIM.

On removal to fit Bykski all looked good to me.

Used same TIM spread method, install was simple and easy. I used the screws with full thread on their length, as the others were too long (maybe for AM3/AM4 ). RGB on board had been set static RED back in Sep 17 and CPU block lit up as that straight away. Glow is nice and even, intensity does not seem out of place compared with board RGB.

Above picture there is air bubble top left corner of block, I ran PC for ~12hrs at 100% pump speed to remove air bubble. Preliminary comparison to EK I have gained ~10% drop in CPU temp, this is inline with HardOCP testing as on these pages, link 1 and link 2.

The Bykski A-Ryzen-ThV2-X was ~£44 delivered, EK-Supremacy EVO Threadripper Edition (Plexi/Nickel) £60 (source was FOC delivery). The Bykski wins hands down IMO on:-

    • Performance
    • Features
    • Price
    • Visual appeal with and without RGB IMO

What it loses on is zero support from manufacturer and source, the included "manual" had ~6 differing Bykski block install info but this one (IIRC).

Indeed looks much more appropriate than EK block.

    Cooling:-

EK XRES 140 REVO D5 PWM
    2x MagiCool G2 Slim 360mm
Each rad 3x Arctic Cooling F12 PWM
Mayhems XT-1 Clear concentrate ~20% with distilled water
    Arctic Silver 5 TIM

Custom profile, controlled by ASUS ZE based on loop temp (T_Sensor1). Housed in Be Quiet Dark Base 900, front modded to mesh, top panel modded to allow more air exhausting at side mesh, chassis sealed between top panel so no back draft from exhausting fans occurs, Be Quiet 140mm 1K RPM as exhaust on case, set 100% static.

Room ambient ~23C when EK test was done (top screenie), ~22C when Bykski tested (bottom screenie). EK block had been fitted for ~5mths, so fully cured, Bykski ~2 days on. Prime95 v29.4B8, custom in place FFT 12K 12K.

    Indeed.

Stock CPU EK (top) vs Bykski (bottom), IMO room ambient variance +/- 1-2°C, P95 custom 12K 12K in place FFT.

As the Bykski mount is not spring loaded I nipped it originally tightish, now TIM has had some cycles of usage I decided this morning it was time to recheck screw tightness. They did turn again with ever so slight resistance, so I gave each ~1/4 turn.

Since originally building the loop I had planned to shorten/neaten up the tubing between lower rad and pump/res, when I do this I will hopefully lap the Bykski block and see what occurs .

The EK block is weighing in at ~324g as out of the box. I may weigh just the cold plate, but IMO I think the Bykski will still have more mass. Below photos from HardOCP reviews of each block.
