ROG Centurion true 7.1 gaming headset with 10 discrete drivers, digital microphone, Hi-Fi-grade headphone amplifier, and USB audio station
“To sum up, we found the ASUS ROG Centurion to excel in almost every area. It is expensive, but then you do get what you pay for here. As such we have no issues at all in awarding this an AVForums Recommended badge.”
“They still perform really well, the software still works with lots of gaming options. Like I said they do sound really good!”
“Overall there’s a lot of praise to be had here, the true 7.1 is nothing but superb and definitely a tangible improvement over its virtual surround sound competitors. I can see why this physical surround sound approach is so much more expensive, from the external audio AMP to extra drivers that have to be squeezed in. I appreciate that the external audio control box is necessary and I’m glad ASUS decided to actual make it useful, rather than a burden, with controls that come in super handy.”
“PC gamers after a proper surround sound experience will love the Centurion’s accurate audio - even if the aggressively styled amplifier isn’t for everyone.”
“With the Asus Centurion, you are getting something completely different, which is true 7.1 as well as the amp and control station. This is what you're paying for, and although it is extreme, the price isn't too crazy considering the amount of hardware you're getting.”
“As such, I must give my final verdict on the ASUS ROG Centurion. It is undoubtedly the best sounding headset I have ever used but the price is just very steep, while I do find the short cable to be annoying. As such, the Centurion does not win our top award, but it certainly comes highly recommended. If you are after the absolute best in sound quality and do not want to compromise on that, the Centurion will serve you very well.”
“The Asus ROG Centurion is mightily expensive, but it’s also jam-packed with features and backs offers supreme quality throughout. Some other headsets are more comfortable to wear, but the Asus produces fantastic audio, and the hub is useful and convenient too.”
“If you can handle the Asus ROG Centurion’s weight and ostentatious design, the headset offers superb audio clarity and game-beating sound-manipulating features.”
If you want genuine unforgiven surround in your ears when you play, the Asus ROG Centurion is without competition. Because there is no one else like that. And when you take into account how much hardware you get, the price is more than reasonable.
PC gamers after a proper surround sound experience will love the Centurion’s accurate audio.
The average price of the ASUS ROG Centurion is 14 thousand rubles. Considering the complexity of the engineering solution and the sound quality, it is absolutely justified
The ASUS ROG Centurion has the following obvious advantages: a robust and ergonomic design, a great noise-cancellation system, a USB station for audio control, support for the 7.1 format, and ten independent speakers
The ASUS ROG Centurion combines incredible 7.1 surround sound, immaculate voice communication quality, maximum comfort, and full control over its sound
The ASUS ROG Centurion delivered excellent sound, which is its huge advantage. Coupled with the extensive setup options, you can do a lot with it
Gamers certainly have to listen to ROG Centurion True 7.1 in live and possibly add this gaming peripheral device to their arsenal
Centurions are quite impressive at the start, literally, because they were packed in a huge cardboard box that could accommodate several pairs of headphones.
Paying a price of RM1479 does put my expectations very high from a gaming headset. The build quality is impressive, the finishing is immaculate, the sound is amazing. Pretty much whatever you want from a very good headset, the ROG Centurion has it. Forget about virtual 7.1, this is THE 7.1 environment that you need for the absolute gaming experience.
Performance. Nothing beats having a TRUE 7.1 Surround Sound Gaming Headset as it gives you a more accurate directional sound as compared to gaming headsets relying on their respective software. The Centurion has a wide soundstage and gives out crisp details that will give you an estimate on how close your enemies are.
ASUS ROG Centurion is an excellent product that's worth every penny. Speaking of penny, this costs PhP12,000; it may be a little pricey but you get a ton of benefits: USB Audio Station, which houses a hi-fi grade ESS amp; and an excellent headphone with physical drivers for better immersive sound experience. While there's an ROG branding here, this is definitely for everyone, albeit the unassuming and aggresive design. Whether you love listening to hi-fi music, movies and games, this is definitely a steal!
The ASUS ROG Centurion is officially priced at PhP 12,000. You do get a lot in the package such as a DAC/AMP, a headphone stand, and extra velour earcups. It also does well in gaming as proved by our tests with Overwatch and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Music performance, however, leaves something to be desired such as a better reproduction of higher notes. RGB lighting is also a missed omission with the ROG Centurion. Despite that, this is one of the most impressive gaming headsets that we’ve heard. The price might be a turn off for some people, especially for audiophiles, but the ASUS ROG Centurion’s performance in both games and, to an extent, music, make up for its shortcomings.

Outstanding in mid range, High freq. is smooth and soft comfortabe to ear, Easy to adjust sound profile with USB Station.
“Overall, with some plenty of tweaking and even more testing, I’m changing my opinion – the Centurion (with tweaking) is a stellar headset. My advice if you pick up a pair? Download the software, and disable all the frivolous options and play with the equalizer. This is definitively a headset for enthusiasts, and not for someone looking for a plug-and-play experience.”
