Despite a slower refresh rate than other 21:9 and 32:9 OLEDs, the Asus ROG Swift PG49WCD has everything one could ask for in a gaming and productivity monitor. It delivers a stunning image and replaces two 27-inch 16:9 screens.

This is the monitor that makes you set goals in, for example, the business you are engaged in, just so that at the end of it all you will be treated for all the money, and I think I will have a very hard time parting with it.

Tech Awards 2024 Reader's Choice - Best Gaming Monitor Brand
Once again, ASUS and its gaming sub-brand ROG have been voted as the Best Gaming Monitor Brand by our readers. It’s no surprise though, given how the company has always been one of the leading innovators in this sector. For instance, the ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD is a fantastic 49-inch ultrawide gaming monitor that has a built-in Smart KVM feature – it also earned our Editor’s Choice Best Ultrawide Gaming Monitor award.

But we really like how ASUS has squeezed in a lot of connectivity features into the ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD, including a USB Type-A port on the underside and one facing upwards on the right rear. It’s a stroke of genius, as they are very convenient to reach with the odd cable or USB stick. If you’ve tried contorting your upper body and struggled to reach the back of your monitor to get a charging cable connected, you’ll know what I mean. We are surprised how so many monitor brands have not thought about this.

The ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD is just as suitable as a gaming monitor as it is as a monitor for the home office, and thanks to Smart KVM, it can even be used simultaneously! At 49 inches, the PG49WCD is as big as two 27-inch monitors side by side.

A gaming-only monitor? No, absolutely not! Gaming with this ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD will definitely be a wonderful experience but I found it really suitable for productivity as well. Its 32:9 aspect ratio, that is, as if it were two classic 16:9 side-by-side, and the quality of the OLED panel mean that your multitasking will never be the same again.

This monitor is a war machine, you can use it for everything. I tried it for film, for video production, for photo editing, for everything, and it was really excellent in everything.

The OLED monitor offers superior image quality with clear and vibrant colors, surpassing LCD panels.
