Dominate the battlefield
The ROG Strix SCAR is ready to take Windows 11 Pro gaming by storm. Powered by an Intel Core i9-12900H CPU at up to 65W and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX Laptop GPU with a 150W max TGP, this machine is designed to keep gamers on top of the leaderboard. The system uses NVIDIA’s Dynamic Boost to intelligently provide power exactly when and where it’s needed. When fully utilized, a jaw-dropping 150W max TGP on the RTX 3080 Ti squeezes the absolute most performance out of this flagship GPU and powers you straight to the podium. ROG engineers left nothing on the table when tuning the 2022 Strix SCAR.
Next-generation DDR5 RAM clocked to 4800MHz and a PCIe Gen 4x4 SSD keep the machine feeling responsive and snappy even during intensive tasks, while also minimizing load times in-game. With data rates 50% faster than previous generation DDR4 memory, the SCAR will have no problem feeding the i9-12900H with information and keeping your framerate high in even the most frenetic firefights.
New CPUs, GPUs, and RAM aren’t the only upgrades under the hood in 2022. Most modern gaming laptops route their GPU’s frames through the CPU’s integrated graphics to conserve battery life. The 2022 Strix SCAR is receiving a multiplexor, or “MUX,” which is a hardware component that can select from multiple different input signals and route it to a single output. With a MUX Switch, you can enable a direct GPU mode that reduces latency and boosts performance by an average of 5-10%, with up to 30% in some titles. In games where a few frames can be the difference between winning and losing, the Strix SCAR leverages a MUX Switch to give you a competitive edge. Changing between modes is also a breeze, with a simple toggle available within our Armoury Crate software.
If you don’t need something tournament-ready, the Strix G15 and G17 make high-end performance accessible to esports enthusiasts of all stripes. Both models are powered by up to an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU at 150W with Dynamic Boost for high-end horsepower.
Don’t lose your cool
Powerful components need powerful cooling, so ROG has further improved on its Intelligent Cooling™ suite of improvements. The Strix G uses liquid metal on the CPU for improved heat transfer. This lowers temperatures by up to 10°C compared to traditional thermal pastes, allowing higher sustained boost clocks and lower noise levels. For 2022, the Strix SCAR is pushing the envelope even further with the Thermal Grizzly’s Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal. This amazing material has 17 times higher thermal conductivity than traditional thermal pastes, allowing the Strix SCAR to run another 5°C cooler than its sibling. The indium- and galium-based compound will also not dry out or lose thermal efficiency over time, giving you reliability and peace of mind for years to come.
This year we’ve also increased the max TGP of the Strix SCAR and Strix G to a staggering 150W with Dynamic Boost. With longer and higher boost periods, the Strix family laptops are able unlock the maximum graphics power from their hardware for competition ready gaming.
On top of that, all 2022 Strix laptops feature 84-blade Arc Flow Fans™ with variable thickness blades that taper down to 0.1mm at their thinnest point to improve airflow while reducing turbulence and noise. Up to four exhaust vents allow for plenty of ventilation, and anti-dust tunnels eject dust from the system to prevent buildup over time. In Performance mode under a full gaming load, the Strix SCAR does not exceed 40db. And ROG’s 0db mode turns the fans off entirely during light workloads in Silent mode, for a truly noiseless experience.
Lightning fast, crystal clear
In order to keep track of the action in fast-paced games, a high refresh rate panel is key to staying one step ahead of your opponents. But like the Strix family’s internal components, we weren’t content with second best: only a bleeding edge, blazing fast display is enough for this high-powered laptop. At 1080p resolution, the Strix SCAR offers a panel with an insane 360Hz refresh rate, which is faster than even most competitive desktop gaming monitors, bolstered by a 3ms response time for clear motion without extra blur. Adaptive-Sync keeps every game smooth and tear-free, and Dolby Vision HDR rounds out the specs on this impressive IPS display. Never miss a flickshot again.
At 1440p resolution, the SCAR has made a monumental generational leap, up from 165Hz to a 240Hz refresh rate. With a 240Hz refresh rate you get the benefit of incredibly smooth animations and motion tracking, with the added resolution of QHD giving more life and vibrancy to game worlds of any genre. If you like to mix up your esports with open-world or adventure games, this is the panel for you. The Strix G17 features the same high-performance Full HD 360Hz and QHD 240Hz panel options as the Strix SCAR, and the Strix G15 offers up to FHD 300Hz and 165Hz display options.
In addition, all 2022 ROG Strix laptops include Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio support, ensuring you hear your enemy’s footsteps clearly in game and your favorite tracks exactly as the artist intended. To futureproof the I/O, one of the USB Type-A ports has been updated to Type-C, ensuring the port selection will be relevant for years to come. It starts with the Transparent Palm Rest that gives you a peek into the heart of the machine below the keyboard deck. Per-key RGB unlocks millions of lighting combinations, which can be matched to your other ROG peripherals with Aura Sync software. Whether you like keeping it simple with a preset lighting profile or creating a one-of-a-kind work with Aura Creator, the SCAR is ready to flex your style. Bezel Glow underneath the display and synchronization with ROG’s “Fearless Eye” on the lid allows you to customize the look of this cutting-edge machine to make it distinctly yours.
Customization doesn’t end with just lighting control. The Armor Cap on the rear of the Strix SCAR is also removable, with three distinct colors bundled with the machine. You can also create your own unique design or download a custom model to 3D print your own as well, to let the world know just who you are.
The Strix G15 and G17 offer three distinct color options. For a more stealth look, there is the stylish and subtle Eclipse Gray.
