New for 2022, we’re adding a new ROG Strix Z690 motherboard to the lineup to give gamers even more options for their next build: the ROG Strix Z690-A Gaming WiFi. Last fall’s ROG Strix Z690-A Gaming WiFi D4 turned heads with its angular white planes and clear acrylic cover that spans the I/O shield, a combination that makes it an ideal choice for a white-themed gaming build.
The new ROG Strix Z690-A Gaming WiFi lets you enjoy this pristine aesthetic alongside the next-gen performance of DDR5 RAM and Wi-Fi 6E. Blazing-fast DDR5 RAM lets you take advantage of the sizzling new speeds and supreme power efficiency offered by the latest evolution of system memory. Paired with a Wi-Fi 6E router, this motherboard will let you rise above the often-congested 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands and enjoy reliable, high-end wireless connectivity in the freshly opened 6GHz band. Like the previous model, this board offers Intel 2.5Gb Ethernet, a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, high-fidelity audio, and a rich selection of connectivity.

Our menu of B660 motherboards lets you select a foundation for your next Intel 12th Gen build that has just the right features for your needs and budget. Options with PCIe 5.0 x16 slots give you a front-row seat to the next generation of graphics cards. Spring for a model with DDR5 RAM support to get access to the fastest memory speeds on the market—or make a value play with a model designed for DDR4 RAM instead. Either way, your ROG B660 motherboard will let you enhance your system’s performance with memory overclocking. Need a motherboard with Wi-Fi 6 or a Thunderbolt header? Our lineup has you covered there, too.
ROG Strix B660-F Gaming WiFi
Three new motherboards headline the ROG Strix B660 lineup. Sitting atop the stack is the ROG Strix B660-F Gaming WiFi. With its 16+1 teamed power stages, this ATX motherboard is ready to deliver copious amounts of stable power to a high-end Intel 12th Gen CPU. A PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and DDR5 RAM support let you reap the advantages of next-gen graphics cards and memory, and its three onboard M.2 slots make it convenient to set up a high-speed and high-capacity storage array.
When it comes to cooling your build, the ROG Strix B660-F Gaming WiFi gives you plenty of options. The I/O shield is integrated into the VRM heatsinks for improved thermals and an eye-catching design. The three M.2 slots and the chipset all have dedicated heatsinks. Multiple 4-pin PWM fan headers let you set up and control an array of case fans, while a dedicated pump header makes it easy to connect an AIO liquid cooler.
We’d be remiss if we failed to mention this motherboard’s sizzling good looks. Contrasting black and white hues predominate across the board’s surface, while accents on the I/O shroud and chipset heatsink deliver a dash of vibrant color. Three 3-pin addressable RGB headers and one 4-pin Aura RGB header give you the tools to go all-out with your case’s lighting and keep it all coordinated through Aura Sync.
Premium audio courtesy of a SupremeFX ALC4080 codec keeps you on top of the game—and makes listening to music or unwinding with a movie a high-end experience. A Savitech SV3H712 dedicated front-panel headphone amplifier delivers heart-pounding audio when you immerse yourself in the action with a headset.
Exceptional connectivity rounds out this motherboard’s list of features. Wi-Fi 6 lets you tap into tech that can relieve network congestion when you pair the motherboard with a compatible Wi-Fi 6 router, while a 2.5Gb Ethernet port gives you a fast wired connection. A fleet of USB ports, including a pair of USB Type-C ports, makes it easy to hook up all your favorite peripherals. Headers for a front-panel USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port and a Thunderbolt 4 port let you set up high-speed and versatile ports within convenient reach at the front of a compatible case.

Unleash your Intel 12th Gen CPU with the ROG Ryujin II ARGB
Have a CPU cooler that you’re not quite ready to retire yet? To ensure backwards compatibility with as many coolers as possible, our motherboards include LGA 1200-compatible mounting holes in addition to mounting holes for next-gen kits. If you already own one of our AIO liquid coolers, its LGA 1200 retention kit ensures that you’re ready for Z690. Purchase one of our select new AIO liquid coolers, and you’ll find an LGA 1700 mounting kit package in the box. Check this website to find an eligible model.
For those shopping for an all-new cooler to pair with their all-new CPU, we have a tempting new option: the ROG Ryujin II ARGB. This AIO liquid cooler pairs premium performance with extravagant style. Its 7th Gen Asetek pump, embedded downward-facing pump fan, and fans with our proven Axial-tech design will tame your CPU’s temperatures while staying whisper-quiet. Its integrated 3.5” OLED panel gives you an attention-grabbing canvas for displaying custom graphics or vital system information. And with addressable Aura RGB LEDs on the 360mm or 240mm radiator, you’ll have the tools to set up a customizable lighting array for your gaming rig.
If your CPU cooler was made by another manufacturer, we recommend that you contact them for more information about your specific hardware. Our Z690 motherboards offer the mounting holes for previous-gen LGA1200-compatible cooling systems, but due to the lower z-stack height of the LGA1700 socket, you might need a special bracket.
Save power without sacrificing performance
Gaming prowess is paramount for ROG motherboards. Conscious of the impact that their energy consumption can have on the environment and their monthly energy bill, many gamers also prioritize efficient operation as they plan out their next build. We embrace our social responsibility as a leading motherboard manufacturer, so we’re keenly interested in equipping our users with impactful power-saving tools. Today, we're proud to announce new modes for all of our Z690 and B660 motherboards that reduce their overall energy footprint without diminishing their exceptional gaming performance.
Even when it’s not under load, your graphics card still draws power. Since even this small amount of energy can add up over time, we’re refining how graphics cards draw power at idle in our 12th Gen motherboards. For example, in our testing we were able to reduce the idle power consumption of an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 by up to 27.9%, and the idle power draw of an AMD Radeon RX 5600XT by up to 35.7%. That adds up to significant savings over those products’ expected lifetime.*
But that’s not all. With ASUS Performance Enhancement (APE) enabled, you can reduce the power consumption of your Intel 12th Gen CPU, even at full load. In our tests, we were able to reduce power draw by up to 10.7% during CPU benchmarking, all without measurably reducing performance.
*Actual performance varies by configuration.
