ASUS ROG STRIX Z890-E GAMING WIFI literally has all the possible functionality, except for Thunderbolt 5 or a 10-gigabit LAN controller. When interacting with it, you realize that every detail is thought out at the highest level, but this is accompanied by a corresponding price that is not very affordable for the average user.

We tested the new Intel 9 processors on an Asus ROG Strix Z890-E Gaming Wifi motherboard, 2x16GB DDR5-6000 FURY RAM and Asus ROG Strix LCIII ARGB LCD heatsink with 360mm radiator. The new features brought by Asus with the new generation of Strix are very interesting, including the presence of 7 M.2 slots, three of which are PCIe Gen5 and the main one with a Q-Release system for the heatsink, which can be removed without the use of screwdrivers.

What's New?

As the first foray of AI Overclocking on an AMD architecture, the set of parameters has changed substantially, but voltage and clock speeds are still the primary targets for adjustment. Every core has a recommended VID and frequency, with the latter based on a combination of ratio and Asynchronous BCLK tuning.

Predictive settings in the utility are designed to work in tandem with Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO), but they go one step further by enhancing the values for EDC, TDC, and PPT, as well as tuning the curve optimizer.

Finally, by enabling the Dynamic OC Switcher, AI Overclocking ensures that the CPU is using ideal settings whether in single- or multi-threaded workloads.
