For years, the Zephyrus family of laptops — the Zephyrus G14, Zephyrus G15, and Zephyrus M16 — have been heralded as the best gaming laptops in existence. Merging high-end performance with stylish, thin chassis designs has never been an easy feat, but today’s gamers demand this careful balance. So this year, we pushed the boundaries even further to create the ultimate 16-inch ultraportable gaming laptop. Introducing the all-new ROG Zephyrus M16, featuring top-tier components, a redesigned chassis with premium finishes, a Nebula Display, and for the first time, our AniMe Matrix™ on the lid of a 16-inch machine.
Ultra-portable, Ultra-premium
The new Zephyrus M16 has a chassis that exudes quality, bringing true craftsmanship back into the realm of technology. For this new design, we used a new and unique mirror polishing technique created with a ten-step grinding process, which allows the aluminum alloy to reach a luxurious level of shine.
The M16 has its own flair, with a design rooted in the futuristic stories of ROG SAGA. Drawing inspiration from mechanical monoliths in cyberpunk cities, the M16 features a distinctive ROG diagonal slash lines all over the machine, as well as elements with holographic effects for a decidedly futuristic look. Its contrasting color palette draws distinction between the rebellious, evil, and black technology themes present in dark sci-fi, and the utopian societies we aim to build to combat them. The M16’s new color, Off Black, draws on these themes, with an incredibly dark hue that’s been finished with our exclusive nano-sandblasting techniques, which we’ve made fingerprint-resistant to maintain its clean look.
With looks this sharp, you’ll want to take the M16 out on the town. Its refined and compact chassis makes it an easy traveling companion in any scenario. With a 16:10 aspect ratio and ultra-slim bezels, we were able to pack a 16-inch display into a chassis sized for traditional 15-inch laptops, making for an ultraportable powerhouse that doesn’t skimp on usability.
Next-generation performance
Inside this gorgeous laptop, we’ve packed the latest and greatest in modern silicon for next-generation performance. Configure your M16 with up to an Intel Core i9-13900H processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU, plus up to 64GB of DDR5 4800HMz RAM and up to 2TB of PCIe 4.0 solid-state storage. Both the storage and RAM are upgradeable, meaning you’ll never want for power — whether you’re gaming, coding, or creating content.
We were able to push the M16’s CPU and GPU to higher limits than ever with a larger, full-width heatsink that spans the entire rear of the chassis. We then combined that with a tri-fan design that routes air from three fans through precisely calculated cutouts toward the heatsink for more efficient cooling. Thanks to this new solution, we were able to push 25 more watts of power through this unbelievable machine, meaning you get more graphical horsepower to push more high-res frames to the display.
Gorgeous visuals on all sides
While the Zephyrus M16 is certainly a conversation starter with its head-turning design, all eyes will be on the beautiful Nebula Display once you open the lid. All Nebula Displays much reach our exacting criteria to ensure they’re fast, bright, and vivid, meaning you don’t need to wade through specs to know that your content will look amazing.
But on this year’s M16, we went even further, equipping certain models with our newest Nebula HDR display. Built with Mini LED technology, the M16’s Nebula HDR display contains 1,024 individual backlight dimming zones, allowing for ultra-deep blacks and highlights leveraging up to 1,1200 nits of peak brightness on the same screen. With HDR movies and games becoming the new benchmark of visual fidelity, you’re ready to experience them — and create them — in the best possible light.
The 2023 Zephyrus M16 is now also available with our AniMe Matrix™ display on the lid, now for the first time ever on a 16-inch machine. The larger canvas of the M16 allows for larger, more beautiful animations than ever, shining through thousands of precision-milled holes in the lid of the chassis for a customizable one-of-a-kind look that’s sure to turn heads everywhere you go.
