The ROG Swift 360Hz is the world’s fastest esports gaming monitor
To help the most elite gamers in the world take advantage of the incredible frame rates available from today’s highest-end gaming PCs, NVIDIA and ROG are developing the world’s first 360Hz esports display technology, which is being previewed at CES 2020. The first monitor to use this technology is called the ROG Swift 360Hz, and its unparalleled refresh rate is right there in the name.
Why push refresh rates all the way to 360Hz? It shouldn’t be news to anybody, but esports competitions have well and truly become elite athletic events. Millions of fans tune in to watch professionals duke it out for prize pools that can total tens of millions of dollars. Victory and defeat can hinge on mere milliseconds. With so much on the line, professional competitors need every edge they can get to take home the gold.
One of those edges comes from gaming monitors with high refresh rates. If you look at the latest graphics-card benchmarks, it’s not elitist to note that modern gaming PCs are ready to deliver frame rates well above what a standard 60Hz monitor can show. Indeed, the highest-end gaming PCs can pump out many hundreds of frames per second in the white-hot competitive titles that make or break today’s professional gaming careers.
You don’t have to take our word for it, either. Our recent testing of games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Overwatch proved that not even 240Hz monitors are fast enough to display every frame on offer from those titles using the latest and greatest hardware. Monitor technology needs to keep up with future advances in gaming performance. That’s why we built the world’s first 300Hz gaming laptop, and it’s why we raised the bar even further with the ROG Swift 360Hz.
Just how fast is 360Hz? In the blink of an eye, the ROG Swift 360Hz has already refreshed an incredible 54 times. A plain old 60Hz monitor would only have drawn nine new frames over the same period of time, all else being equal. Even compared to widely-available 240Hz gaming monitors, the ROG Swift 360Hz can draw a whopping 50% more frames every second. With this kind of benefit, it’s only a matter of time before every competitive player will want nothing less than the new best of 360Hz.
The ROG Swift 360Hz’s wicked speed comes in a comfortable 24.5” size, and it features the same unmistakable design cues that already grace our highest-end gaming monitors. If your old monitor ticks away at 60Hz or even 144Hz, you’ll enjoy a huge upgrade in motion clarity, smoothness, and responsiveness from the ROG Swift 360Hz.
You can see the ROG Swift 360Hz for yourself at the ASUS CES 2020 showcase, located at the Planet Hollywood Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, as well as at the NVIDIA suite at the Wynn Resort. For more information, contact your local ASUS PR representative.
