So I've just installed an update from windows, January 22, 2019 — KB4481031 Cumulative update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.7.2 for Windows 10, version 1809 and Windows Server 2019. This is what the update is called and all of sudden my cpu starts to power throttle. Before this update, my cpu was running fine at 3.4ghz during gaming at 80 to 85 C during gaming. Now with this update, my cpu starts to throttle down to 800mhz occasionally even when the temps are like 75 to 80 C. Is there any workaround this? I've searched up youtube and they fixed this by setting Turbo Boost Short Power Max to match your Turbo Boost Power Max. What would be the impact for this? This is the first time i've experienced this. Back then it was only thermal throttling but i did not experienced any thermal throttling and my cpu is undervolted by -125mV.
