Using UEFI (BIOS replacement)

Retired
Not applicable
G73JW. I see that I have the UEFI option from the factory-installed BIOS on this notebook, running Win 7 x64. Couple of questions before I try enabling it:

1. How will enabling it affect the original BIOS?
2. Will I be able to disable UEFI and revert to original BIOS at any time?
3. Are there any issues with UEFI and current disk partitions, etc?
4. Currently I am not able to boot from USB, does enabling UEFI allow that?

I've found lots of info about UEFI in general, and for a few other Asus models, but not specifically for G73JW series.

Thanks.

It appears you have to install Win 7 with UEFI enabled. I enabled UEFI and didn't notice anything on a current Win 7 Install. I would also like to know if anyone has done this.

need more info and user experiences before i turn on my uefi bios. I have a G73JH and have this option on 213 version

I tried to boot a Win 7 Pro x64 DVD in EFI mode, but couldn't figure out how. It would be nice to have some instructions.
