G75v Gpu down throttle on battery (Nvidia 660m)

I am running a Nvidia 660m overclocked to 970Ghz base and when i am on battery power i experience a frame rate drop from high 70s and 80s(on AC power) to 10-20(on Battery).....is there a way to stop the throttle

I am in High Performance mode
I have went into advanced power settings and raised minimum processor state to 85% on battery power
I have looked in BIOS for a GPU/CPU throttle control-to no avail....
I have changed Nvidias 3d settings Global power management mode to Perfer Maximum Performance....

I am out of ideas.....Can i fix this??

Throttling on battery is intentional as the battery would not last long at full tilt. Also we (ROG laptop owners) have speculated but not had confirmation by ASUS that our batteries are incapable of providing enough amperage to run the GPU at full speed. If true, overriding it would mean potentially damaging your battery.

As far as I've seen there is not a user accessible option anyway.

Known issue, no fix, intentional.

The 560M GPU is a 75 Watt TDP (Thermal Design Power) GPU. This would be very high power consumption on battery, especially when coupled with the 45 Watt TDP CPU. Combined load would be somehing like 110-120 Watts, which is about ten amps from a 12 Volt battery. I highly doubt that the G75VW battery can source that much current, so the throttling is necessary. Why would you want to game for 30 minutes on battery anyway?
I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!

We now have 178 people whose systems will not break! Yippee! 🙂

System is not designed to give full performance using battery power.

Well not what i wanted to hear but thank you all anyway

the reason i wanted to be able to game away from power was because ill be going to school and i have about 45min of downtime on campus between classes and i wanted the option to play if i decided to take this 10lb brick out of the apartment

Thanks again
