Crosshair V Formula - Red DRAM light and continuous beeping

Retired
Not applicable
Recently just purchased all new parts to build a PC from the ground up.
However once everything was all plugged in and powered up, upon booting the system I get a loud and constant beep, as well as having the DRAM led light up red, it flashes twice and then remains constantly on.
The specs are;
AMD Phenom x6 1090T
Corsair Memory XMS3 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz
Corsair H80 cooler
Corsair CMPSU-650HXUK HX 650W Modular Power Supply
LG BH10LS30 disk drive
XFX HD 6970 2Gb ATI AMD Radeon Graphics Card HDMI/DVI+
1TB Seagate HDD

Any idea's as to whats causing this or possible solutions?

Yeah, tried all the slots, still happens.

Hi Yevongood,

Can you try clearing CMOS and using a single DIMM in the last slot and see if the board will POST please?

-Raja

EDIT: Just saw your post above. In that case, remove the CPU from the socket, switch off at AC, clear CMOS and try again please.

You may also want to remove the GPU just for testing. Eliminate another potential point of failure.
A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk, I have a work station…

Hey guys, know its later than I said, been doing some tests on the rig.

Did the CMOS, and the red lights shifted to Boot device and CPU. (without taking CPU out)
Took the GPU and the RAM out, no beeping this time but went to DRAM red light.
Put the RAM back in, no beeping and its now on CPU red light.
Put the 3 pin socket from the cpu cooler onto another fan socket and now its no beeping, then goes, DRAM red, then changes to CPU red, then changes to VGA red. And Stays that way.

Will update shortly as i carry out further tests.
