ASUS G73SW-BST6 keyboard

Hi, i just picked one of these up on ebay. and starting to look at it.
as far as i was told it is stock with a fresh win7 install.

is there a way to configure the backlighting on the keyboard thru like control panel ? or is it only thru Fn F3 F4 key?
i thought there may be a way to vary the backlighting color other than white but it doesnt look like it? i know some gaming computers have that feature.

i wonder what sort of upgrades are popular for this computer. wondering about overclocking or perhaps a higher res screen ?

thanks,
lf

Welcome to the forums, @lightfoot!
Higher res screen - don't bother, it's insanely hard, and rather expensive. As to multicolored lighting, it has to use the key shortcuts (download the ATK driver from ASUS if you need it), and it only comes in white. I don't mind having only one color, since I am interested in lighting up my keys in a dark room for typing, not in making my laptop look "cool".
I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!

are these computers known to have issues with the touch pad?
mine seems to take a very hard tap as compared to my toshiba.
i have adjusted the tap sensitivity level to the lowest setting and it takes a very hard tap .
thanks.

(to answer my own question after a few days of research. yes, there is a problem with touchpads on some of them, solution appears to be to take out the old one and peal some tape and metal backing off. and replace the tape. possibley something to do with grounding. )
