Audio lagging issue

Cageymaru

I have an issue where the audio in games, movies, videos on YouTube, etc is lagging behind what is shown. The audio will be out of sync with the person's lips and then it will skip ahead and catch back up for a few seconds. Then it will fall behind and then catch back up. When it catches back it cuts off the end of the last audio passage. It's most noticeable in cut scenes such as the new Deus Ex and The Stanley Parable Demo. Maybe someone can download the demo from Steam and see if their Phoebus does the same from time to time.

I have a fresh Win 8.1 64 Pro / Media Center install. All bios settings are the same when it was fine prior to 8.1 upgrade. My SSD and hard drives have plenty of space so it's not that. My CPU usage isn't high. Some of the games it stutters in I have in excess of 120 fps so the video cards aren't taxed.

Help!

Try running with 48KHz sample rate and make sure both the driver settings and windows settings show this value.

I have it set to Xear Surround Headphone. I can't change the sample rate in the Phoebus panel nor within Windows when it is set to this. Is this the problem you think? I set it to this so that Battlefield and other games would recognize positional sound.

Probably, sounds like you're describing yet another driver bug... Try setting 48K Before turning on Xear
