directX 11.1 - 11.2 only on windows 8 or 8.1 ?

i have a amd 290x which says it supports dx11.2. and on the battlefield 4 forums every one is saying that it is only on the windows 8.1 platform that you have 11.1 dx or the 11.2 support which some gpu,s have like mine." so does windows 7 not support the dx 11.1 - 11.2 " ? any ideas

Yeah, you're absolutely right. Directx 11.1+ is windows 8 exclusive.

There is nothing great about it.
It's just that if you play BF4 you could have some slight performance boost when running it on 8.1 since it can use newest direct'x functions. I believe that there are no other titles that take advantages of 11.1 for now.
