I'm sure this has been asked a lot, in fact I recall reading about it but search did not help me. Poor search term probably. Anyway, as I recall with the CFVFZ and 2 sticks you use the two "red" slots, is that correct? If I have to use the black slot closest to the cpu I will need to punt, my cpu cooler obstructs that slot.

You can use any of the slots, either both red or both black.

It will not make any real difference.
