Random hangs - seems related to USB also BIOS hangs.

FIRST ISSUE:
==============
I have had to become accustomed to having BIOS hangs at boot.

I have an LSI 9260-8i RAID SAS card installed to drive a RAID 5 / SSD Accelerated Volume as "D:"
So that POSTS first.

Then, once once i get to the part of the POST where the INTEL RAID or ACHI card initializes, I get a screen showing "American Megatrends" and a red Triangle LOGO and it HANGS there.
(See attached image)

I can CTRL-ALT-DEL or RESET and it will boot fine after that.
If I don't, it will sit there forever.

So, I cannot remotely reboot my system, or expect it to come back up after a reboot without physical interaction.

SECOND ISSUE:
=================

I have Windows 7 x64 Pro installed and it has run fine for a year.
However now, I am getting random hangups in the OS where the blue ring will appear and never go away.
Even after HOURS of waiting.

Eventually all the applications and Explorer (desktop) will hang and sit forever.
Requires a RESET to fix.

I have the latest BIOS as of today.
I have the latest drivers as well - checked today.

I have reverted to an image taken days ago and one taken a month ago, and those seem to work until...

I try to do ANYTHING with VMware Workstation with regard to USB.

This all seems centered around USB for some reason.

Is this ringing a bell with anyone?

when i boot with usb hub connected i have the same screen, it will not boot normal with usb hub connected, without it or with only one or two usb hardisks connected directly to the motherboard, it will boot normal.
