Probably a bug in Intel chipset drivers with power save. Happens on many notebooks including G751JY and G752VY

It happens ALWAYS when Nvidia Geforce Exeprience gets the update.

Probably other updates are triggering this too.

I have had this issue on a few laptops... I used to think it was to do with iTunes randomly accessing the drive...
My solution was to go to device manager and disable the drive as it was seldomly used anyway :):)
G750 -JHA -32GB -256GB SSD -512GB SAMSUNG 840 PRO SSD
Windows 8.1...Home Ed.
Latest Kit..Sep 2016
G752-VY-32GB- 2 X 256GB SSD'S + 512GB SAMSUNG 840 PRO Windows 10 Home Edition.

Right now I uninstalled Geforce Experience to see if that 'fixes' it if not I will also disable it or replace with an optical bay caddy that I have laying around, I don't use DVDs since like 2013 anyway xD

every time you open windows explorer it searches for all the devices, inc optical.
thus, any time you "save as" a file from anywhere, is uses windows explorer.
The simple action to do if you can't find the root cause for it, is to disable the Optical device in device manager ( think... are you really using it every day ? )
