CHA_FAN3 no longer working MAXIMUS X HERO

Hi, I’ve been having issues with 2 PWM fans in my system. I had them connected via a Y-splitter cable to CHA_FAN3 but they would spin at 100% with PWM set in the bios. I switched the Y-splitter to the H_AMP header and the same thing happened in PWM mode. I removed the Y-splitter and tested each fan individually on the H_AMP header and they worked fine in PWM mode.*

I then went to test CHA_FAN3 again but the fans won’t spin at all on this header anymore and when connected to it when I look in the Monitor section of the bios, no fan RPM information is reported at all for any system fans. Almost as if CHA_FAN3 is shorting out.

Has anyone else ever seen this problem with a fan header?*

No, haven't seen that happen before. The splitter should only report the tach signal from one of the fans, not both.

Hi im using the WiFi model and mine has a issue with CHA_FAN3 too, giving no reading of the fan rpm but did power the fan. I ended up having to use a splitter on CHA_FAN2 for my 2 top exhaust fans so i could be sure they where moving at the same speed.
