Raid-0 with onboard M.2 and M.2 in PCIe card on Maximus VIII Hero

Hi,

I am currently struggling with my planned Raid-0 setup on my Maximus VIII Hero.
I installed one Evo960 in the mainboard's m.2 socket, while having the second Evo960
on a PCIe card, installed in the black PCIe 4x slot at the very bottom of the board.

Within the BIOS (v3703), I can see both m.2 drives, besides my regular 2 SSDs.
I can also access both m.2 drives within Windows 10 (using Samsung drivers already).

Yet, when I do switch the system to Raid within the BIOS, I can only see one of
the m.2 drives for pairing into a Raid configuration. I also tried to connect the
other SSDs to other SATA ports or even removing them completely - and yes,
I also tried to disable CSM before doing that.

Has anyone successfully done a similar Raid config on the Hero or has a clue
what point I am missing?

Thanks for your help!

Cheers,
Tom

Hi Chino,

thanks for the link. I was aware of this instruction, yet still I had no luck.
While having a second view on the tutorial, I saw that there is a second
option beside M.2 Storage RAID Support, namely PCIE16_3 PCIE Storage RAID support.
Yet, this option is not shown in my BIOS. Could it be that the Z170-DELUXE is
supporting this and the Maximus VIII Hero is not?

Thanks!

Cheers,
Tom
