Activate Beast Mode with ROG’s new EVA-02 gear, available now

Last year, we collaborated with Evangelion to bring an EVA-inspired color scheme to a host of ROG products, and gamers loved it. We loved it too – in fact, we loved it so much that we decided to do it again in 2023. 

This time, though, Asuka is taking the helm, with a collection of ROG gear based on EVA Unit-02. Unit 02’s black and gold color scheme is iconic, and we went all out on this new loadout of motherboards, graphics cards, cases, all-in-one CPU coolers, peripherals, and gear. so Evangelion lovers can show their true fandom for the series.

The stars of the show are undoubtedly the ROG Maximus Z790 Hero EVA-02 Edition and the ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 EVA-02 Edition. These are the cream of the crop in modern motherboards and graphics cards, prepping you for top-tier performance in a fully EVA-themed rig. It’s not just the color scheme, either —  these components are chock full of Evangelion images and references, like the motherboard’s Polymo lighting on the I/O cover which switches between images of Asuka and EVA unit 2. The CPU socket itself is surrounded by an AT field, and the bottom heatsink features Eva unit 2’s Code 777, known for invoking the EVA’s Beast Mode, which is shown on the motherboard’s backplate. The ROG Hyperion EVA-02 Edition is a truly special case, too. When it first released, the Hyperion ushered in a new era of airflow-focused cases with full support for all the latest hardware, from larger graphics cards to spacious radiators to the latest USB data transfer rates. But its sleek angles and futuristic design makes it a perfect match for an EVA-themed build — with the red color scheme and small green accents along the front, it literally looks like a Production Model Evangelion built for combat against the angels. 

We didn’t stop there, either. The waterblock of the ROG Ryujin III 360 ARB EVA-02 Edition is adorned with references to Asuka’s Interface Headset on the aluminum bezel, and one of her most famous quotes inscribed on the surface: “I can save the world all by myself.” The ROG Strix Herculx EVA-02 Edition is styled like EVA-02's Progressive Knife, communicating its strength and adaptability — again, with Asuka featured prominently in the Polymo lighting. 

Finish off the build with the ROG Gladius III Wireless Aimpoint EVA-02 Edition mouse and ROG Strix Scope RX EVA-02 Edition fulll-size gaming keyboard.
