While most will naturally gravitate toward an OLED TV to replace the desktop monitor, it’s not always a viable solution. While there are tradeoffs when opting for an OLED display like the ROG Swift PG27AQDM purely as a monitor, it’s something that one can live with. It’s a solid buy as long as you’re able to stomach the price.

This display does have the usual protections like pixel cleaning, and I highly recommend keeping that on. It's also important to follow best practices when using OLED, like not leaving the same image on for extended periods of time.

To restate the obvious, the PG27AQDM is a gaming monitor made by ASUS and is a part of its ROG Swift lineup. The panel’s thickness is razor thin, and is considerably lighter than its predecessor. In fact, its base is actually the only thing that has heft and is solid. Rightly so, given that you don’t want the monitor moving around at the slightest adjustments.

The ROG Swift PG27AQDM is an excellent OLED monitor. The panel is calibrated very well, slightly warm the factory color temperature, but all presets are well balanced. Contrasts are endless, and the record refresh rate of up to 240Hz on PC gives unique moments of frenzy, aided by the extraordinary quality of a screen with few weaknesses. These include its very nature as a 27-inch "only" QuadHD monitor, with a pixel density that, up close, does not sharpen white lettering and a blooming on black
