Sounds at such low frequencies typically produce stronger, more noticeable vibrations. In order to minimize resonance in the smaller chassis, the Zephyrus M16 deploys woofers in pairs that are slightly offset to cancel each others’ vibrations.

Painting it onto CPUs is delicate work, so ROG commissioned custom equipment to automate the process with mechanical precision, and designed a patented internal fence to contain the compound.

Keeping the heatsinks free of debris is critical to maintaining optimal thermal dissipation. Our latest anti-dust measures channel particles away from the fan blades, heatsink fins, and other cooling components to prevent build-up over time. This self-cleaning cooling system helps ensure consistent cooling performance over time, improving long-term stability and overall reliability.
Thermal energy is dissipated by 4 heatsinks, each lined with ultrathin copper fins as slim as 0.15mm. These fins are half the size of typical solutions, allowing for higher density to increase surface area for heat dissipation and lower air resistance to allow for smoother flow. There are 252 heatsink fins totaling 110,328mm2 of surface area.
6 heatpipes pull heat away from not only the CPU, GPU and VRAM, but also the VRM circuitry supplying them with power. Reducing the temperature of these components helps improve long-term stability and reliability.
Slim chassis leave little room for cooling, so we enhance every aspect of the Arc Flow fans. Each one features 84 blades that vary in thickness from base to tip to maximize airflow, and the blades are capped by a special aerodynamic wave pattern that minimizes turbulence and noise. Steady, evenly regulated airflow ensures greater reliability over time. The fans are made of a special liquid-crystal polymer that’s strong enough to spin at high RPMs even at ultrathin sizes, enabling our highest blade density and improving airflow by up to 5%. With 0dB Technology, the fans switch off completely when CPU and GPU temperatures drop below 50°C in the Silent operating mode. This makes cooling truly silent under light workloads.
Scenario Profiles automatically change operating modes to optimize performance and acoustics for different games and applications. Turbo mode uses the highest fan speed and clocks to sustain maximum speed, Performance mode adjusts the clocks and cooling to lower noise levels for gaming, and Silent mode runs even quieter for lighter work and entertainment. You can customize Scenario Profiles to seamlessly switch modes based on your preferences, or use a keyboard shortcut to change modes manually.
Ultrafast Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) lets you game reliably at LAN speeds wherever compatible connections are available. Network connectivity is faster and more efficient, which is especially useful in crowded spaces where traffic is high. Wi-Fi 6 also boasts an updated Target Wake Time mechanism that extends battery life and a new WPA3 security standard that improves wireless protection.
