The new ASUS GeForce GTX 670 DirectCU Mini is more than just a tiny graphics card. To achieve its size the cooling team in ASUS had to design an entirely new fan, dubbed CoolTech, to push air down and out more efficiently without requiring more fan speed (and thus, noise).
