ASUS Republic of Gamers Announces Strix GTX 1080
It's time to end the suspense and show you what you've been eagerly waiting for. The new king of the hill is called ROG Strix GTX 1080, be ready to rule and conquer! If you've been reading up on what graphics cards are available for your next upgrade, there's no doubt you've heard the hype about something called Pascal and how much it kicks ass. Well, it's not just hype, this is the real deal.
Powered by Nvidia's latest Pascal GPU, this is a massive improvement over the already-amazing Maxwell architecture. ROG Strix GTX 1080 comes factory-overclocked with the GPU boost clock up to 1898MHz in gaming mode, the GPU boost clock up to 1936MHz in OC mode, and 8GB of all-new GDDR5X memory. The extra performance translates to around 6.5% faster performance in 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme and 7.4% faster gaming performance in Hitman compared to Founders Edition.
This isn't just VR-ready, ROG has implemented two HDMI ports, one of which is dedicated for VR (Virtual Reality) sets such as Oculus, and possesses more than enough grunt to run VR content.
DirectCU III with patented wing-blade fans are back, with ASUS FanConnect for up to 30% cooler and 3X quieter performance. Just like the Strix GTX 980 Ti, this is manufactured using Auto-Extreme Technology for consistently better quality.
Other all new feature, modders and DIYers will love the Aura RGB Lighting.
This among many other of ROG's latest gear will be on show next week at COMPUTEX 2016, you won't want to miss it!
