Overview: ASUS ROG Gladius
The ROG Gladius gaming mouse is an optical wired mouse designed specifically to accommodate first-person shooter (FPS) players. When the battle is so intense, fast-paced and rigorous, a serious FPS gamer needs the tools to not only last the fight, but to conquer the war. There is no time for mistakes, and so ROG has created simplicity in the Gladius with ultimate sophistication. From experience, ROG has chipped away at all that is not necessary and over-complicated, then perfected all the necessities. The final product in classic ROG colors is both strikingly dangerous and silky-smooth.
Engineered to be Feared
The Gladius mouse is armed with all the buttons required to annihilate and bring fear into the eyes of enemies. The widely spaced top trigger buttons are customizable switches allowing perfectly controlled single-shots, or rapid-fire shooting. The thumb buttons are slide-to-press, so it is not necessary to lift the thumb; temporarily and partially losing control. ROG has opt for a single 2-level DPI clutch, when presented with a window of opportunity, there is no time for perfect DPI tuning with 2 buttons. An Alps encoder is implemented in the scroll-wheel to ensure the gamer can switch to the correct weapon for the job without fail. At the heart of the beast is an advanced optical sensor.
Palm, Claw or Fingertip
Since the Gladius was designed by gamers for gamers, this mouse is built for long gaming sessions, and the Mayan-patterned rubber panels accommodate all gamers with different grip types; palm, claw and fingertip, providing ultimate control.
Everything you Need to Win
The wishlist for FPS gamers has been checked off; fully-programmable buttons, slide-to-press thumb buttons, individual mouse buttons (not unibody) for responsiveness, Alps encoder in the scroll-wheel for consistent switching, braided cable to prevent drag, steel-gray coating to minimize sweat and stickiness, 2-level DPI clutch for simple and no-fuss switching, and Mayan-Patterned rubber panels for grip where needed.
Track Down Your Enemies
An optical sensor is chosen over laser to reduce jitter and inconsistent acceleration, which are subsequently present from the laser's ability to register every detail - including imperfections - on the mouse surface. Most FPS gamers would agree and prefer to use mice with optical sensors as they are more forgiving, improving accuracy. Inside there is the 6400 DPI optical sensor, 200 inches per second, 50g acceleration (which is the fastest acceleration available today!), and <1.5mm lift-off distance; the higher the need to lift the mouse to be out of range, the more time is wasted.
Japanese-Made Omron Switches
Quality Japanese-made Omron switches are used for the top trigger buttons to ensure ultra-responsiveness, durability, and customizable resistance by using the extra pair of switches included. With 20 million clicks available, there is a peace of mind there won't be any mid-game crisis.
Bundled in the Box
The mouse comes bundled with a 2m braided cable for your PC and a shorter 1m cable for laptops or travel. Underneath the mouse there is an unlock switch to release the cable, avoiding accidental disconnections. There's a plush ROG pouch to protect the mouse when carrying it, an extra pair of Omron switches with a different resistance, two Republic of Gamers stickers and a complete set of spare mouse feet for when you change-over.
Customize With Software Profiles
A customized profile of the mouse can be stored in the hardware so the mouse will react to your personalized style, wherever it is connected. In software, the user can create as many profiles as desired. An intelligent calibration tool is included to make the mouse perfectly match its mouse pad to maximize accuracy and responsiveness. A mouse-pad preset can be selected or manual calibration is also possible.
Specifications
*The responsiveness have been upgraded to 2000Hz.
