Republic of Gamers Announces ROG Masters Oceanic Region Qualifier
Republic of Gamers today announced that the ROG Masters Oceanic Region Online Qualifier round will be held from 5th to 11th September, 2016. Teams across Oceania have until 4th September to register for the event.
Teams that make it through the Group Stage will face each other in the Online Qualifier Playoffs, which will be broadcast live to a global online audience. The Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) live broadcast on 10th September will be commentated by pro gamers Daniel ‘dabo0’ Bürgle and Hugo ‘ItsHugo’ Byron, while the live Dota 2 broadcast the following day will be helmed by Toby ‘TobiWan’ Dawson and Gareth Bateson.
ROG Masters is Asia’s largest eSports tournament and features a prize pool of US$200,000. From September to October, 2016, Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams will battle it out in a series of regional qualifiers for a spot in the Grand Finals, which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 12th to 13th November, 2016. ROG Masters intends to discover future talent in the Asian Dota 2 and CS:GO scenes and bring them into the international spotlight.
