The Maximus X Formula is the most recent chapter in a storied series of gaming motherboards that can be traced back to the original Maximus Formula from 2008. ROG has been devoted to engineering the best gaming hardware for more than a decade, and you can see the evidence throughout the Formula’s history. To celebrate this extraordinary milestone and exceptional board, we created the Your Winning Formula contest to give away Maximus X Formula motherboards, Strix GTX 1070 and 1070 Ti graphics cards, and other gaming hardware worth over $7,000 USD.

Although the Formula needs no introduction, it certainly deserves one. The first incarnation helped set the tone for enthusiast motherboards, offering hardcore heatsinks, extensive overclocking options, and upgraded audio on a dedicated card. Subsequent generations have continued to drive audio forward with dedicated DACs, headphone amps, and radically redesigned onboard circuitry. Formula boards have set aesthetic trends with colors and lighting, and they’ve introduced practical features like integrated I/O shields. They’ve also continued to evolve VRM cooling, with early support for custom liquid loops and a partnership with the experts at EK Water Blocks for more recent revisions.

How to enter and win

In honor of the incredible lineage that spawned the Maximus X Formula, the Your Winning Formula contest separates entries depending on whether you already own a board from the family. If you do, post a photo or video of it on social media with the hashtag #ROGWinningFormula, then submit your entry via the Gleam widget on the contest website. If you don’t, pen a wish list for your perfect Maximus X Formula build, draw your fantasy rig featuring it, or create an animation or photo celebrating the board. Post that to social media with the same hashtag, and submit using the appropriate Gleam widget on the contest page.

Votes from the community and ROG staff will determine the winner and two runner-ups for each category. The community’s picks will account for 30% of the overall total, with ROG staff adding the rest. There are also separate prize packages for the community’s top three picks in each category, plus draw prizes for lucky entrants.

The top prizes for the owner’s group include Strix GTX 1070 and 1070 Ti graphics cards along with Aura Terminals and addressable RGB strips. Aspiring Formula owners are competing to win one of three packages comprising a Maximus X Formula motherboard, addressable RGB strip, and ROG pouch. The prize packages for community voting have hardware from ROG partners like BitFenix, Cooler Master, FSP, GeIL, G.Skill, In Win, Essencore, Lian Li, Phanteks, TEAMGROUP, Thermaltake, and ZADAK.

Your Winning Formula is open to entries from around the world, except where prohibited by law. The contest is open from February 5 to March 6, 2018, and you can start entering now.
