Star Citizen Raises US $28 Million In Crowd-Funding
Those that follow PC games and the work of Chris Roberts, the man behind the famous Wing Commander game, will have caught wind of its newest project, Star Citizen. In a recent crowd-funded effort it has managed to raise US $28 million! All extra funding targets new goals, which are aimed at further developing its features. The latest US $28 million goal added a new Mustang personal spacecraft as a starter ship, in addition to the earlier introduced Aurora spacecraft. Inevitably there has been a lot of questions to Chris Roberts regarding the extra funding, and according to a recent statement at Roberts' Space Industries site, since the design of the ship alone does not actually cost millions, the funding goes to towards a wider berth of "hiring additional artists and programmers, equipping the team with better development tools and increasing the size of the talented outsource groups being trusted with aspects of Star Citizen’s development."
