Press Release: Republic of Gamers Announces Ares III
ZOMG it's the ARES III! ROG's annual faster-than-the-fastest-dual-GPU-single-card-graphics card has launched. This year it's a single slot, dual R9-290X with 8GB of GDDR5 (4 per GPU) with exclusively designed EK water block. We've got an unboxing - or uncasing (yep, it comes in the metal suitcase you can see below) - and full gallery prepared for next week, so be sure to keep an eye out for that!
Each ARES III is numbered for exclusivity and as ever there's a limited number made, so if you really want one, be sure to get in quick this month because once they're gone - they're gone! Remember you'll need a water cooling kit to hook it up to, so be sure to add one to the basket as you buy. And send us pics of the finished result!
The stock OC of 1,030MHz is deliberately quite conservative to better fit the cooling capacity of a wider range of water cooling setups, but the 3x 8-pin power connectors, ROG's beefed up Super Alloy VRMs and fully custom PCB provide ample overhead for overclocking with GPU Tweak, once you know everything is good to go!
Hit the PR button below the pics for more details.
Addendum 5th Sept 2014: An earlier version of our press release erroneously referred to a MicroSD card. This has been corrected to USB flash drive.
