We heard you: more battery, more AniMe Vision

We listened closely to the improvements you wanted to see in the latest generation of your favorite sleek, slim powerhouse. Chief among those requests was improved battery life. So, we built the ROG Phone 9 with a 5800mAh battery, up from last gen's 5500mAh, to provide, on average, 26 hours of everyday use (or 22 hours of pure video streaming). For gaming, the ROG Phone 9 gives you 4.5 hours of hardcore game time, whether you want to go on a Call of Duty tear or really dig into Sonic Rumble with the graphics maxed out.

That’s not all. Our new AniMe Vision display on the back of the ROG Phone 8 Pro was so popular that the community wanted to see it on all versions of the ROG Phone. So we found a way to make it happen. The ROG Phone 9 features a compact AniMe Vision display with 85 programmable mini-LEDs, while the ROG Phone 9 Pro sports a larger array of 648 lights for even more flair. These luminous stylizers can be customized with different animations and images, including over 20 that we preload for your convenience. Plus, on the Pro, you can experience entire games right on the back of your phone using our new AniMe Play feature — you know, in the event you’re hankering for a round of Snake Venture or Brick Smasher.

Finally, many of you wanted the front-facing stereo speakers back from previous generations of the ROG Phone. And while that isn't possible with the new slim design (which you've also told us you love), we were able to implement a neat solution for better audio. Our first-party ROG Phone 9 cases redirect bottom-facing speaker audio so it bounces toward you, sending sound your way just like a front-facing speaker would. When you do opt for a pair of earbuds, expect the same great DIRAC VIRTUO spatial sound that we brought to previous ROG Phones, which provides immersive audio whether you’re listening over Bluetooth, USB-C, or a 3.5mm wired connection.

AI powers up your play

The ROG Phone 9 harnesses the latest in cutting-edge AI capabilities to bring you incredible experiences, from gaming to other daily activities. For example, we created the X Sense feature to make in-game tasks easier. Want to automatically pick up items or fast-forward through dialogue in Genshin Impact so you can get back to the parts of the game you love most? X Sense will do the work for you through advanced AI image recognition.

And don’t worry about scrambling to manually record incredible in-game highlights; X Capture will detect the most exciting gameplay moments and record them automatically. Rest assured, your victory highlights will be saved. Since you’ll need clear communication with teammates to score those victories, our AI Noise Cancellation filters out unwanted background noise so you can hear — and be heard by — your squad.

Need quick access to a guide for your latest quest? Our AI Grabber tool can do that for you by searching the screen for text and searching for tips and walkthroughs related to that part of the game. It can also translate text if a game’s using a language you’re not familiar with.

The ROG Phone 9 brings AI power to everyday tasks, too. If you’re calling someone who speaks a different language than you, the AI Call Translator will tell you what they’re saying in real time. The AI Transcript feature, meanwhile, gives a written rundown of audio recordings so you can easily look back on the contents of voice notes, meetings, and more.

Semantic Search uses AI to help you search through your phone for items you can’t quite find. For example, describe a picture you took ages ago, and it’ll find it for you. Or use Circle to Search, which does exactly what it sounds like: just circle something in an image to search for it online. Whether you need help figuring out the name of a flower or identifying a comic book character, this tool’s ready to help.

Incredible camera capabilities

The ROG Phone 9's camera unit features three lenses, each uniquely suited to cover an aspect of your daily camera needs. The 50MP main camera sports a 6-axis Hybrid Gimbal Stabilizer 4.0, ensuring your pics and videos are crisp, clear, and blur-free with 66% better vibration compensation over last gen. The 13MP ultrawide camera comes in handy for landscape shots, and a 5MP macro camera handles juicy close-up photography.

The ROG Phone 9 Pro packs similar specs but swaps out the 5MP macro camera for a 32MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and support for portrait mode — perfect for when it’s time to take your next social media profile pic. The ultimate mobile gaming display

A gaming device is only as good as its display — after all, what’s the point of amazing graphics if you don’t see every pixel with crystal clarity? That’s why we equipped the ROG Phone 9 with a killer 6.78” Samsung E6 flexible AMOLED display capable of 2500 nits of peak brightness and incredible color accuracy for gorgeous HDR. The display sports a max refresh rate of 185Hz, a step up from last gen’s 165Hz cap. This means when you’re playing reflex-oriented games, you’ll receive buttery smooth visuals that give you a competitive edge.
