The upgraded GameCool 7 thermal system in the ROG Phone 7 is the best yet, cooling the CPU from all directions. It uses a three-pronged approach. First, for short sessions the Boron Nitride (BN) thermal compound on one side of the CPU reduces throttling. Secondly, mid-length sessions are taken care of by the bigger vapor chamber and graphite sheets on the other side of the CPU. Finally, for marathon sessions the AeroActive Cooler 7 — with its fan positioned right over the CPU module — kicks into play for AI-powered active cooling, featuring a Peltier element for extra cooling performance.

The new ROG Rapid-Cycle vapor chamber has specially designed conduits which quickly channel condensing water back to the center of the chamber, increasing cooling efficiency. The six liquid-return channels work as mini highway for condensed water, and the trident shape wick columns on the long edges of the chamber to improve efficiency.¹⁰

Vibration Mapping lets you set different levels of haptic feedback for each of the virtual on-screen buttons, making them easier to locate and use. For example, you could set a light vibration for normal attacks and a stronger effect for power combos.

The device has been tested for water resistance using the IEC 60529 standard and has achieved an IP54 rating. IP54 resistance protects against splashing water. Water splashed against the enclosure from any direction will have no harmful effects. (https://www.iec.ch/ip-ratings) The water repellency may deteriorate over time under normal conditions of use, or if the unit is damaged, repaired or disassembled or not observe the correct precautions. The IP54 water-repellent function of this device is only suitable for general tap water or freshwater, and not for contact with other types of water or liquids (e.g. seawater, salt water, chlorinated water and beverages). In addition, do not immerse the unit in any water or liquid, and please note that this device has a USB-C^® charging port, and the USB-C^® port must be thoroughly dried before charging. Note: The water repellency of this device is tested by using a flow rate of 0.1 l/min per hole (the number of holes depends on the size of the swing tube), a water spray angle of ±180^° and a pressure of 80~100 kPa; the device is rotated 90^° horizontally after 5 minutes, and the water flow continues for a total of 10 minutes. After the test, the device is removed, fully dried, and then checked for normal operation.

The ROG Phone 7 is once again an excellent bet for gaming confidence, the endurance and cooling are simply fantastic. However, if you buy the ROG Phone 7, by the third year you know exactly what to expect. A reliable gaming champion that's starting to get lazy and needs a bit of a kick. The stamina is addictive as hell. If that's all you care about, look no further than the flags.
