Hy I`ve got my crosshair formula -z last year. now I updated my cpu from fx 6200+ to fx 9590.and it`s time to update my ram`s. I wonder if this kit is compatible with this mobo. this is the kit Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB DDR3 2400MHz CL11 Dual Channel Kit . I use this pc for CAD and gaming.

CPU: AMD FX 9590
Cooler: Corsair H110
Mainboard: Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z
Memory: Corsair 32 GB DDR 3 1866 Mhz
Storage: 6 TB
Graphics Card: Gigabyte Geforce 1060 6GB
Sound Card: Onboard
Display: ASUS PG278Q, ASUS PG279Q
Peripherals: Logitech G19, Creative GigaWorks S750, Creative MegaWorks 550, Creative DDTS 100
Case:Corsair 900D
OS: Windows 10 x64

You can check the QVL on Asus site for that board... Also, Corsair use to have a list for their memories...

Try the new kit with memtest86+ first, do not boot into the OS until you're not passing at least 4 cycles...

go to the memory calc on the corsair to see if its comaptible, and go to asus home page and to the motherboard you have and see how high mhz is the max the board can support.

The CHVF-Z can handle up to 2400MHz frequencies(O.C) but the FX 9590 only supports up to 1866MHz...this is on 2 sticks of RAM mind you, if you slot in 4 sticks of memory 1600MHz is as far as AMD will guarantee support.

I'm using AMD Radeon Gamer Series (4 x 8GB) @ 2133 via the AMP profile. It makes it through memtest with no probs.

That's great mate, but you would also know that AMD cannot guarantee that 4 sticks of RAM in a matched kit will run effectively beyond 1600MHz, due to the IMC. And since no 2 CPU's are the same, anything above 1600MHz is a bonus for the end user 🙂

This has been my experience, it's the luck of the silicone lottery. My 8350 would struggle to hit 1866, while the 9590/chvfz runs 8gb at 2400 just fine. Running four sticks just adds to the frustration.

I've tried 2 sticks and 4 sticks with various combinations of sticks and at 1866 or 2133. I can't see any noticeable difference for my uses. AMD memory timings are loose so maybe that's some of the luck.
