When to expect a redesign of G752 (G753?)

The G752 lineup has been out for two years, breaking the trend of one major redesign per year.
It seems that asus have forgotten the mainstream market. All they are doing is pushing the extreme high end segment (G703, GX501) lately.
My question is, can we expect the "normal" G series lineup to get a complete overhaul (G753) soon?
Personally, I was hoping for a slim x-y-z profile like G701 + 1060 configuration. Not everyone needs 64G ram + 1TB SSD + GTX 1080 / monster price!

You should probably look at some of the business or entertainment models rather than Gaming models for less powerfully hardware?
or maybe the GL models they seem to be much slimmer with less leading edge hardware.

I have no idea at all what Asus has planned probably no one else on here does either were mostly just users helping each other

I dont see any upgrades in the near future.
They have high pascal onboard and any upgrade to the CPU platform at this time wont yield any improvement. No need in a redesign just to put a CPU on there that will have a similar power profile and performance range.

As clint said if you want slim and light this isnt the segment to be looking at. These are more of a desktop replacement. The performance is good, the battery life stinks but thats what happens when you put this kind of power in a device. Size is more about being able to cool the components than anything else. Takes some serious heatsinks!

Hi sl0519,

For slim and powerful laptops with a GTX 1060 or 1070, you can check out: GL502/GL702, GL503/703.

ROG Strix GL703

Are you adamant about a 'G' series? If so, why's that?

Just a heads-up: I'd like to point out that this one's "special" (the single one AMD Ryzen based laptop Asus offers) and has some issues right now.
As an owner of this particular model I'd recommend holding off for a while and see if the 1.0/first iteration issues are going to be worked out first.

I currently have two threads on this board explaining entirely unrelated issues that seem to be AMD specific (be it "purely AMD's problem" or "Asus' AMD integration") - the Intel/NVidia based models might - no experience myself - be a lot more stable.

I agree with the above comments as a suggestion to you on the business laptops. However, both my G752's can handle pretty much all the gaming software out there right now very elegantly (we are: Republic of Gamers), so honestly I don't see a "need" for a G753 at the moment.

I think the G703 was the G752's successor. They honestly look very much alike.

To me it looks like Asus is looking at the Strix series to be the mainstream option. Only thing that shied me away from Strix was the build quality, and aesthetics. I just like the silver more then I do the black. Even though the G703 was more expensive then I was hoping, the build quality is amazing from what I have seen so far. Worth 3500? Thats a tough call. But currently, the G703 was the best option IMO for me.

(ROG has simply become too expensive compared to the competition with same specs... 😞 )

Yea just check up the spec on the G703 it appears to be the successor to the G752 to me. Strix seem to be built on the GL format rather than the G Format, Maybe I'm missing something?
